I spray FW1 car cleaner on the spots 5 minutes before washing then they peel straight off during washing..

Try a little WD40. this works, rinse off, does attract dust afterwards though, so may need to wax

Wd40 is 50% mineral spirits and then some light oil, mineral oil, and a propellant that's just not good for anything..and you can buy pure mineral spirits for less and it goes much further.. Alcohol evaporates to fast but will breakdown the tar, 91% is available at the drug store, for $3 for 16oz. hand sanitizer is 67% maybe and $2 an ounce. There are many citrus based products that are very effective. With large coverage I like both ironx and other purpose made products along with a washing the jeep with dawn first and after any other product used, unfortunately tar on large scale requires hands on work not just melting it off usually. Clay are will get the rest off but for larger areas patience is better first. After any solvent or hydrocarbon use you should throw on a good coat of your favorite wax.
