Your time is probably worth $0 - so I can understand you sarcastic remark.

I doubt he is considering this a get rich quick scheme. Considering it includes free shipping, the cost of the stock material, the time to modify the stock material, the time spent testing for optimal size and material choices, the cost of ebay and paypal fees... Maybe he makes $5 - $8 a sale.

How much does Jeep charge for a spare plastic jack piece? A decent epoxy filler will cost a few buck as well. Are you really saving money with this solution? Maybe a few dollars.

I was also considering this item -- effectively the same concept but much more elegant construction and design. At $35 shipped it was twice as much for the same ultimate solution.

Well if i do it at work my time is worth quite a bit more than that..... Be realistic, There are better idea's than this. take the hockey puk for example, i would much rather have rubber on my paint than metal???? I wasn't looking for a fight so please don't try and start one...

Re: tip on WK2 pinch weld adapter for floor jacks

I have been using this adapter for awhile now and it works great. I only use it for the front. There are other threads about safely lifting the vehicle with a floor jack - seems Jeep could have made it easier. I have not lost any paint from using this adapter as is.

Which adapter are you speaking of?

i was under the assumption that you should be lifting AT the weld, and not the part above the weld which is not reinforced.

Re: tip on WK2 pinch weld adapter for floor jacks

It must not matter - I have had zero damage with using the adapter. Did not like the idea of lifting the vehicle by the pinch weld, but maybe that is the intended way to go. The jack that came with my GC is slotted, yet it looks like it does rest on the pinched seam at two places - I have never used it. It would be great if a Jeep engineer could explain the rationale.

That will work, but from that kings ransom of a price, they are awfully proud of that thing.
