The adapter I have been using rests on each side of the seam - not on the seam.
I mentioned this earlier in the thread:
"It must not matter - I have had zero damage with using the adapter. Did not like the idea of lifting the vehicle by the pinch weld, but maybe that is the intended way to go. The jack that came with my GC is slotted, yet it looks like it does rest on the pinched seam at two places - I have never used it. It would be great if a Jeep engineer could explain the rationale."
