Re: Turn Off DRL's on 2012 Overland

One other thought, does pulling the fuses matter if you turn on your lights manually or leave them in the auto setting.? I wouldn't think it would matter, I usually just leave mine on auto.

I leave mine in auto and it works normal... turned on / off manual with and without fogs and all works good.
People at the wendys musta thought I was goofy.. I was checking all the lights in the glass window, so I could see it all work

Next question, anyone figure out a way to have those inner (DRL) lamps come on WITH the HID headlamp?

The 2012 Jeep website talks about "4 bulb burn" for Laredo models that do not have HIDS available? I suppose a wiring diagram would help if we could find one.

Can anyone with a Laredo tell us if the same relay setup is on the Laredo as we have been discussing for disabling our DRLs?

Re: Turn Off DRL's on 2012 Overland

I'm interested in disabling the DRLs solely because of the way they are turned off when a turn signal is active. I don't know why but it annoys me in a big way. The first time I saw one off with the signal, I thought it was a lamp failure. The DRL and turn signal interaction is simply over-complicated.

Thanks for posting which relays to remove.

Re: Turn Off DRL's on 2012 Overland

You guys are the best. I just disabled the DRLs on my Overland. Took a few seconds, and a total of a minute including checking that they no longer work. I don't know what it is, but they just really started bothering me lately. Mainly the size of the DRL and the off yellow color, and also what alpha said above. I'm driving around and noticed a Laredo (same brilliant black color as mine) looks better without the DRLs. And they don't help safety anyway considering some lady took a left turn right in front of me a few months ago, so that I had to SLAM the brakes and came inches away from hitting her.

I'm having trouble with my Hi/low beams, is the remaining front middle relay for the lights? I cannot find a lights fuse or any other reference to hi/low relay. I get a very soft low beam and no hi beam and thought it might be a faulty relay. YThanks

Re: Turn Off DRL's on 2012 Overland

Hello all, my first post to the forum. I bought a '12 Altitude yesterday and noticed the DRL turn signal issue when I was driving around town today and I'd like to disable the DRL's altogether. I tried pulling the 2 right relays that was suggested earlier in the this thread in the pic, but the DRL's remained on. If anyone has any other suggestions on how to disable it I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Re: Turn Off DRL's on 2012 Overland

I have added a simple on/off switch to the console next to the gear selector, then you have to get to the 2 green wires that run to the 2 relay bases, cut them & run extra wire & switch between them & the cut wires going into the relay bases , simple , now I can turn the DRL's off/on whenever I like.....
