I recently replaced the OEM 3157 DRL bulbs with V-LEDS 3157 5K Bulbs.
The output is much brighter than the stock DRL Bulbs and as you can tell by the attached pictures the output is pure white with a small hint/halo of blue/violet versus the incandescent or yellowish output of the OEM bulbs.
I took these pics at night so you can get a better idea of what the color is.
Great post and photos HPV8. We've had an install thread with the Putco DRL's but nothing that captures how nice the lighting and looks upgrade really shows as well as your photos.

Appreciate the post. Sorry for the dumb question, but does this aftermarket headlight insert in any way affect the auto level feature? I thought the JEEP had this...also...how did you arrive at this specific company/brand? Is this the best option out there, or are there other options? Just curious, going to do this if it's a no brainer upgrade and doesn't affect leveling, etc.

I wonder how they would do against the 3157 Putco Neutron LED bulbs. The putco Neutron bulbs use high power Nichia LED diodes. Putco advertises these LED bulbs to be the brightest bulbs in the market.

Not LED but I found some regular chrome bulbs that do that. I've used them in the past and may just get those. I've seen them on ebay for $5 + S&H up to $30 on a website. I'll start cheap and see what they're like.
Yeah, I have the silver bulbs in my box. Problem is that they are so dim.
Supposedly the phillips silvervision bulbs are better, but they don't offer them in the 7444 size for the WK2.
We are working with a member on this forum to do a review of the Putco Neutron 3157 LED bulbs and how they perform in the DRL. This non biased review will be posted on this forum for members to see
These Neutron LED bulbs by Putco are supposed to be the brightest LED bulbs for a 3157 application and they are made right in the USA in Putco's story city, IA location.

The 5k are currently out of stock. I spoke with the company that I ordered through and inquired the difference between the 6k and 5k. If this is common knowledge I apologize but I was informed that the 5k is pure white and the 6k has a tiny hint of blue.
FYI if you signup to receive their newsletters they give you 15% off your first order =$12 for these bulbs. The code they gave me was NHL2011 not sure if it was a one time deal but you can also sign up for the newsletter yourself. With shipping it was $71.98
Hey everyone- new owner here (actually haven't taken delivery yet) but am looking to do a few updgrades right away. Was searching through the forum and found this thread. Question for the folks using these bulbs as DRL's- v-leds site states not for use as DRL's so any issues with them so far?
also, has anyone replaced their fogs with LEDS? if so are there any pics? I've used V-leds quite a lot for my acura and have always been happy with their quality.
Since my original install of these LEDs almost a year ago I've been through 2 sets. They keep failing. My immediate thought is the heat from the engine is (literally) melting the plastic around the LED because upon inspection of the LED the plastic is deformed and (appears) melted.
I've pulled the LEDs out for now until a solution can be found.
On a positive note. V-LEDs have offered to buy both sets back and refund nearly $200. Good guys.
Just a little confused. Our DRL, are they also our high beams? If so won't replacing them with LED's mean we won't have high beams anymore?
Is there a difference in bulbs between the HID and non-HID version of our headlights? In a different thread it was said that the bulb was a 9005 instead of 3157.
Edit: Ok, answered my own question. I didn't realized the HID was both the high and low beam.
I've had REALLY good luck with the Putco Nova 3157 leds. The light output is great and Putco/ XenonDepot's customer service is second to none!! One of my lights went out last week and I had a new bulb on my door step three days later with no questions asked!
Old thread, but some info that may help others, as I've been researching about DRL replacement with LEDs. In the past two months both of my OEM DRL bulbs have failed (about 22 month old vehicle). Very poor performance, considering that my previous DRL-vehicles have had OEM bulbs that lasted 9-10 years. So I'll be replacing the Halogens with LED.
