V1 Radar Detector Wiring - GC Limited

We just picked up a new Grand Cherokee Limited with the U-Connection, auto dimming, etc. mirror and wanted to mount the detector beneath the mirror and use the Mirror Tap wiring harness. I wanted to use a Blend Mount to mount the V1 but they don't have a model to fit this mirror.

Since we're getting ready for a trip I'll just use the suction cup mount but do want to install the Mirror Tap harness. I just received the harness and they sent me the MT-1009. I've searched this site for the proper connections and it seems that the various different type of mirrors may use different colored wires for the positive and negative leads. In one post it mentions using the green/yellow wire for the postive connection and in another post it mentions the pink or blue/green striped wire. For the ground wire one post referenes the silver/orange wire while in most other posts it mentions the black wire.

Before starting to install the Mirror Tap harness I thought it would be a good idea to ask if you folks could clarify which colored wires to use for the type of mirror we have. I do have a volt meter and will use that but just wanted to ask which wires would be best to test first.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

find the negative, then just find an accessory wire with the voltmeter so that the detector turns off when the car is off but is on when the car is on

I vaguely remember taping into pink and green wires with my invisicord. I can check later and report back for you.

For a mirror mount I used one of these

It'll require a small amount of trimming to the mount though.

Blendmount works great as well. Have my 9500ix hanging from one in my accord.

Just verified mine is pink/green for positive and black for negative.

Blendmount doesn't fit our mirrors with the rain sensing wipers sensor on the windshield.

I also mounted my radar under the mirror with Great Lakes Trophy mount.
You need to trim the corners about 1 inch each side and it will stay for ever.

Re: V1 Radar Detector Wiring - GC Limited

I have a question about the Great Lakes Trophy Mount for my 2012 Overland. Is it adjustable (left to right)? Reason I ask is my mirror is pointed at me not straight out the back window. I don't want my V1 pointing at me just like the mirror. Thoughts?
