I've tried it from all different sides of the wires, been at this for about two hours now.

It's not the invisicord and I know I have the right wires because I can push the pins into the holes in the front of the harness that correspond to the black and pink/green wires and my V1 powers right up. It's just not making a connection when I push them into the back of the harness no matter what I do.

Any pointers?
is your ignition/acc on when you test it?

Yes I have the ignition on when testing it and I can take the invisicord and plug it into the corresponding holes in the front of the harness and the V1 powers up like it should...then when I plug the pins into the back of the harness where they're designed to go (without making any changes to the state of the car ignition) I get nothing.

It's like the pins just aren't making a connection with the metal when they're pushed in from the back of the harness, like they're not getting down far enough to get past the insulation on the wires, but they're pushed in as far as they can go.

I do have a multimeter, I have tested it, and as suspected it's not making a connection when the pins are pushed into the back of the harness. My question is, what am I doing wrong?

Re: Valentine One BlendMount with Invisicord Install

NCS... Sorry to hear about the 2 hour nightmare here.
Here's some tips/help...

It sounds like you have got the correct 12v yellow to pink/green & ground black to black connections already.
Also, hopefully you are using the Invisicord Micro with the smaller & easier to push-in pins.
If not, then that could possibly be your problem/roadblock as that is a very tight fitting harness plug there.

You just have to be very diligent & firmly push these brass pins in whatever corner/side combination that it takes to make the necessary permanent contact connection into the harness plug.

When I did mine recently, I thought that it would have been a bit easier myself in that I had to play with my plug/push-in connections about 3 or 4 times (especially the yellow) in order to get to the constant foolproof state.
It probably took me about 5-10 minutes extra of trying/messing with this pin/plug placement including bending & pushing the pink/yellow wire to 1 corner of the harness block with a dental tool to make a little room in order to get the pin pushed in permanently.
2 times I thought I had it done, and when I plugged the harness back into the mirror, routed the Invisicord out the small harness opening & shut the mirror back plastic door, the detector lost power.
I just stayed with it till I got it right.

In addition, hopefully you are trying to do this with the Jeep power on, detector on, and the harness unplugged from the mirror as you sit in the passenger seat to get to see the plug-in's as best as you can.

So, sounds like you're not doing anything really wrong... I think that you just have not got the pins 'locked-in' yet.
Hopefully this helps some... Good Luck!

Re: Valentine One BlendMount with Invisicord Install

mine worked with everyone's recommendation: 2012 Overland Summit, V1 radar, homemade invisi-cord: two soldered and shrinked paperclip sections.

Pink wire with green stripe was +, black was -

thanks!

Yeah, I just found that C6 Vette mount too... will it mount on an Overland? You like it?

Thanks for posting!

Re: Valentine One BlendMount with Invisicord Install

I have not recieved it, but the mount is very flexible metal so we can adjust if necessary. I am very positive it will work just fine.

Re: Valentine One BlendMount with Invisicord Install

Only issue I see is not being able to swivel it in order to face the V1 straight out/back when the mirror itself is angled.

Lemme know your thoughts once you install.

Thanks,

B
