Where are Inside temperature sensors located? I guess there are at least two, one on each side (driver and passenger). The automatic temperature heating/cooling unit rely on those sensors to regulate Inside temperature.
I don't remember there being more than one sensor oddly, and the only temp sensor of sorts I remember is that little black dot in the center of your fan speed adjustment knob.
the 2014 WK2 FSM doesn't talk about any inside temperature sensors.. it talks about 4 outlet air temp sensors, and the outdoor ambient sensor, but that's it.. there is a little air inlet just below the ignition pushbutton (on LHDs anyway), but I have no idea if there is a temperature sensor behind it..
My WK has one IR sensor on the hvac control panel, even though it is a dual-zone system.. these systems are a lot less precise than you might think

Yes, it is often, "Perception is reality". Can my side of the vehicle really be 70F and the passenger side 65F when set that way?
When in the backseat of a previous vehicle, my mother-in-law said she was "chilly". My wife told her to push the button for the heated seat. A minute later she said she felt much warmer, then I heard the cigarette lighter pop up!
