Wiring question on Mopar Trailer Tow Harness

I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4. The instructions for the harness are vague when it comes to the long blue trailer brake control wire. Step #10 says, "Route the brake control wire across the bottom of the glove box opening and secure behind the center stack." Does this brake control wire go to a wire in the center stack? Or is it just there for an aftermarket brake controller like the P3?

Pardon the noob question, this is my wife's car and its my first time doing anything on a wk2 platform.

Thanks!

Ok, so I spoke to a tech at my dealership and he said the blue brake control wire is for an aftermarket brake controller. So I'm getting the P3.

My only question on the p3 wiring is connecting the red brake activation wire properly. I saw somewhere to connect it to the WT/G (brake lamp switch) wire located above the brake pedal. Is that correct?

I don't have the factory harness for a brake controller that is located at the brake pedal.

Re: Wiring question on Mopar Trailer Tow Harness

If you have the grey connector up behind the parking brake, just get the pre-wired Tekonsha cable for your P3 for plug-n-play installation. It took about ten minutes to install my P3 and that included fastening the mounting bracket...

Unfortunately, I can't help you with wire colors since I bought the pre-terminated cable for my install.

Re: Wiring question on Mopar Trailer Tow Harness

My JGC did NOT come with a pre-wired harness at the brake pedal. So I'm wondering if anyone can help me verify that I need to splice the Tekonsha's red wire into the White w/Green tracer wire at the brake pedal.
