My dealership wanted $181 for the tow hook kit (#82212095), and $280 for labor!

Looks like multiple web sites sell the black tow hook kit for around $140, and I'll be installing them myself!

Re: WK2 Front Tow Hook Installation (pic heavy)

I installed my tow hooks today on my 2014 GC Limited, little over 1.5 hrs. Definitely helps running all the fasteners through prior to install. Here are some pictures:

In addition to the 10mm & 12mm bolts..., three 1/4 turn fasteners, and one plastic push-pin that you need to remove from underneath, don't forget to remove these 1/4 turn fasteners & 10mm bolts from the fenderwells and inside the lower bumper cover, and the license plate holder too!

Here's what the front end looks like with the lower bumper cover off...

Real easy to just pop out the plates in the lower bumper cover for the tow hooks...

The supplied double sided tape makes the job go smoother when it comes the spacer bracket and spacers...

Re: WK2 Front Tow Hook Installation (pic heavy)

GC Limited, thanks for the write-up. Where did you buy the hooks from? Also, did you have to pull hard to get the lower bumper off or did it come off easily after the bolts and quick fastener removal? I hate to break some tabs off because I didn't thing anything else is holding after the fastener removal. Thanks.

I bought the tow hook kit from an on-line Chrysler Jeep parts web site, about $140...part number 82212095. There's about 5 or so web sites that sell them for about that price, just pick the one that offers the least expensive shipping to your area.

As for removing the lower bumper cover (once you have the license plate holder and all the fasteners removed), it's really not that hard. The trick is to start at the ends by the wheel well...reaching in back to help get the first couple tabs out helps too. Once the ends are out, work your way to the middle...those come out real easy. All told I got the lower bumper cover off in like a minute. Ensure you have a nice soft drop cloth or blanket to rest the bumper cover on so it doesn't get scratched.

While you have the lower bumper cover off, it's a excellent time to replace the fog light bulbs with some good H11 Phillips Crystal Vision Ultra bulbs!

No more yellow light from the crappy stock Sylvania bulbs! I replaced all with the Phillips Crystal Vision Ultras (H11 low beams, 9005 high beams, H11 fog light)

Great DIY! I was under the impression you had to take off the entire front bumper. I would like to come these hooks in red.

Nice work GCLimited. Haven't been able to see the lower fascia up close, when your GC came, were the tow hook slots covered up by two small panels? I'm just wondering about the logistics of it as I'm in Australia and I haven't had the opportunity to check that out.

Thanks

Yes, my Limited had those two block off panels installed in the lower fascia when I first bought it. The block off plates are held on to the fascia with tabs...takes all of 2 seconds to push them out (no cutting involved), so if you ever had to reinstall the block off plates you could...no problem.

Looks great. Those are the new bulbs? They still look yellow in the pic?
