I just painted mine silver. I haven't installed them yet, I spent a few days doing light coats and a clear gloss coat. Looks good so far, not sure about the longevity of it, but I wanted to give it a try. If it doesn't work, I guess I will be dropping the 350 for the chrome ones...

What took the longest? Several of you guys said the bumper didn't take too long once you were able to see what you were doing.

Just finished my tow hook install today. Honestly, couldn't have done it without this thread. Btw, y'all weren't kidding about the lower fascia off/on being the hardest part of the whole mod. Happy with the end result, thanks for the tips throughout this post

Re: WK2 Front Tow Hook Installation (pic heavy)

Are the tow hooks just for pulling your vehicle out of a jam, or could they be used to pull another vehicle? Essentially, what have people used them for in the past?

Thanks, that was my concern- stressing reverse. But I could imagine a situation on a narrow trail where the guy in front of you is stuck and you have no choice.

Jeeps are for leading trail runs not following.

Re: WK2 Front Tow Hook Installation (pic heavy)

Just installed hooks today on my 2014 GC. Great tips on here made it pretty easy. Took about 1.5 hours. Was actually kinda surprised how easily the front lower fascia came off. Literally no tools necessary. Just 7 quarter turn fasteners and a little well-applied force. It was after all designed to come off quickly for those off road outings. As I'm not all that handy I would say most people should be able to make this mod themselves and save the money a dealership would charge for install. Only thing I wish I would have done differently would have been to put it up on ramps to give a bit more room under the front.

Help... Trying to install these hooks and the pictures aren't making sense. It looks like I already have spacer brackets installed. I don't understand!

Went ahead with the install. It appears that my jeep, for some reason, had the bracket installed. Simply bolted the hooks to the spacer and she held like a rock.
The lower fascia is for sure the hardest part to remove. Partly because I was a pansy and didn't want to mess anything up. I started on the driver side wheel well and pulled the locks out in sequence, this worked well for me. Install time was 2 hours and sailor jerry helped me every step of the way! Good luck gents!
