Quick easy no mess oil change with fumoto valve
That great, but you still need to make a mess when you take that oil filter off.

Thanks! I just added 1/2 quart and now it looks perfect.

Took care of that also. If you use the oil filter wrench just to break the tightness of the oil filter then slip a large plastic cup over the filter squeeze the cup and turn the filter and the filter and all the spil oil falls in the cup. Dump spill oil in oil jug and toss filter and cup in trash. Those large mega cups from fast food work fine just need to be big enough for filter to drop in.
Amazon will drop the new 5 quart oil jugs on your front porch and the old oil goes to the auto parts store the next trip. Its a messless easy oil change in less than 20 minutes. Faster and cheaper then the dealer and most of all you know its done right which is the reason i do it this way.

Glad I came in here. I like this valve idea and may pull the trigger soon.

I've considered doing oil change my self but I'm a visual guy so I need to find where the plug and oil filter are located.

Re: Wk2 hemi oil change

So the "low" oil indicator might be because of a short dipstick. Oye! Its the dipstick! On the hemi

Yep, it's all about the dipstick! Check the TSB for exchanging for the 'new' dipstick! We have been adding too much oil all this time! Shame on you Fiat/Chrysler!

I came confirm the new dipstick is riight on now. I did an oil change few weeks ago and put in 7.5 quarts, which was halfway up the hashed area. Since ihave the fumoto valve and it was easy i drained out half a quart today and its sitting right on the full mark where it should be. So the old dipstick did indeed cause you to over fill by 1 quart if you followed the dipstick which most people do when checking oil between oil changes. All the crap of reengineering oil pans and windage trays for blue smoke likely for a wrong dip stick lol

On another note, I found that I usually lost about a quart of oil by the time I change my oil at 8000 miles. Is this normal?

The original OEM dipstick is too short by a quart.
