During the install I was getting frustrated on this one bolt that would not seat into the rail while using the jack, so I kept pumping. before I knew it the back wheel was almost off the ground. It,s very surdy. I'll try it tommorrow but i would trust it!

Nice Pics! Love the look of the Rails. I will have some put on in the near future. I dont think I have the patience and know-how to put them on myself.

How did you pull that one off? Was that part of your purchase deal?

Re: WK2 Rock Rail Install Pics.

5hr at the dealer? Wow... My next mod after K&N I just put on will be this rock rail but still not 100% sure.

Does any of you know how heavy this thing is? I might need more than K&N...

Re: WK2 Rock Rail Install Pics.

I just received a set of these yesterday and the weight of the package was 92lbs. There was not much packing material at all and was surprised to see them survive the trip.

Re: WK2 Rock Rail Install Pics.

How much ground clearance do you lose on this? I drive over some steep driveways. I realize these protect the jeep from things like that, but i'd rather not test it out on a daily basis.. I have no clearance issues now (in the normal drive height).

Re: WK2 Rock Rail Install Pics.

Looks great. I too am interested in how much ground clearance you lose as a result of adding these.

Re: WK2 Rock Rail Install Pics.

Ok I installed rockrails when I first purchased mine. Went off roading and let me tell you thank god for rock rails .. the only thing that got scratched up was the powder coating on the rockrails. When I hit the rock -- man that scratching noise scared the hell out of me.

I highly recomend that anyone wanting to take this out in the bush that they put thoes bad boys on.

Re: WK2 Rock Rail Install Pics.

I was thinking about these as well, but it is actually better to put standard tubes and weld a metal 50mm corner to the inner side of mounting brackets to join them all in a solid structure. This will act like a slider, whilst you will still have your chrome/black tubes to step on.
