could someone take a picture of how it bolts up underneath? Are there support braces that bolt to the chassis?

Re: WK2 Rock Rail Install Pics.

Ahh I see now. They actually sit higher up than the rocky road super sliders. Those look like some pretty solid mount points underneath. Thanks for the video!

Re: WK2 Rock Rail Install Pics.

No problem.. I "think" there's 12 bolts under the doors, 8 bolts underneath and like 12 bolts on the back side maybe? I can tell you that i jumped up and down on them and they didn't budge a bit. I weight about 230lbs. (No, I didn't get that on vid, nor will i ever.. lol)

Re: WK2 Rock Rail Install Pics.

I looks like mud can get in the ends ? Why didn't they make them with caped ends?

Mud is not bad... but ROAD SALT will Rust them out in 3yrs
IMO I would look into making a template then cutting some hard plastic filling the hole with RTV caulk to help secure the plastic to the ends

Hey all, so I too am wondering about the open holes. What i'm actually going to look for is some firewall plugs (rubber ones most cars come with) that fit the holes and see if that will seal them up a bit.

Oh yeah, so I got mine in as well. My local parts manager made me a great deal and I decided to have the dealership do the install. I've installed several of the Kevinsoffroad rails on previous Grand's, but these looked far too messy if you will. Thank god I did. For $200, it was well worth it.

One other thing people have mentioned is that they are somewhat slick. What I've done in the past with every pair of Kevins rails, was simply buy some really good truck bed liner in a can (like RustOleum) and applied several coats to the rails where you actually step on them. This helps a lot and is easily repairable if it gets messed up. Just my .02 on that one.

As for the rails, I'm incredibly impressed. Especially since they are "Mopar" accessories. But I'm used to how beefy Kevin's rails are, but these are just as beefy! I'm super excited and impressed. I love the fact that unlike so many other products out there, we really don't lose ground clearance to these. But I definitely will have to pay attention now as getting in and out will definitely cause your pant legs to drag on them.

Thanks all, I'll post some pics soon (recovering from sinus surgery right now)...

Re: WK2 Rock Rail Install Pics.

I just had my rock rails installed. My mechanic is a Chrysler/Jeep mechanic that does side work on the weekends. After reading this thread I warned him that the install was a bitch but he said no problem. He said he'd be done in 4 hours. After 6 hours he called me and said that this was the first and last set of rock rails we as ever going to install. That said they look great.
Has anyone found that its more difficult to get in and out of the GC with the RRs installed?
