Re: 2012 V6 Dual Exhaust?

I want teh dual too but even aftermarket maker makes single.

Well, it kind of reminds me of mid 90s Toyota Supra Turbo. It had single exhaust but looked great.

I don't recall any issue running with single on mine. I would suggest diesel as much better option for this car.

Re: 2012 V6 Dual Exhaust?

Not concerned with issues. It's all about styling/looks. They spent a ton of $$ to make the WK2 more agressive, wider stance, a more sculpted apperance etc.. but left out the duals on the rear end. I'm cool with it being a paid for option but to not offer is simply a mis.

Not lookiing for gas millage or extra HP/TQ also not looking to drive around looking for diesel pumps.

Why not get the Hemi then?

Re: 2012 V6 Dual Exhaust?

Wife didn't want the V8. It wasn't a $$ issue for us, she just felt she didn't want it. I still haven't told her yet, that she needs to go with the Hemi to get the duals. Problem is, we ordered the vehicle, we got our 2nd email saying your new Jeep is "scheduled for production."

I don't even know if I could make the drivetrain change even if I wanted to do so.

Re: 2012 V6 Dual Exhaust?

Don't be too concerned mate. If you want to replicate the duals of the V8, any good exhaust shop will be able to do it for you, even do the second cutout in the bumper for you.
It's a simple job, only requiring the skills and desire to do it.

It will certainly cost a lot less than swapping your order to, and running, a Hemi

I am most likely off base here, however, why is your wife determining which engine you choose in your Jeep? And why/how does she know the difference between dual exhaust and V6 / V8? It may be time to man up a bit here.

Too funny, It's her vehicle. She drives a 2009 RDX, it has dual exhaust. She likes the way dual looks on a vehicle. She's to the point she'll even ponit out vehicles that don't have them and how unbalanced they look. She has a goal of getting better gas millage than what she gets with the RDX, currently 19MPG I personally could care less about the milage. The reason she doesnt want the 8

Then she is looking at the wrong vehicle. Even a V6 GC will not best the MPG she is getting on her RDX. Have her take a look at the true crossovers. The V6s have duals and may out MPG the RDX. [ex. Ford Edge, Toyota Venza, Nissan Murano, GMC Terrain, Chevy Equinox, etc.]

Drove the edge & new explorer, Edge junk, explorer just too big and I was concerned with the new model year. She's ridden in the neighbors Murano, doesn't like the plain bubble look and we've been the nissan/Infinity track before bad experience. I like the Equinox she didn't, it's her vehicle. Drove the RX 350 on a extended test drive. Came close but the dash and front cabin was too open, she hated the shifter on the dash. She almost pulled the trigger on a 2012 M350 but then she realized to get everthing a Overland had we'd be paying $69K

We've owned BMW X really bad (lemon law experience) she doesn't like the Volvos. Thought we got close with the Evoque but then she drove it. It came down to the SRX or GC she really likes the SRX. However once upon a time I made a REALLY BIG mistake, I bought her a loaded DTS for her birthy day and let's just say it was during Cadi's dark days in the early 2Ks and she spent much of her week at the dealership. So... she's stuck on the GC. I gues that says a lot about Chysler/Jeep and this new model. The've really hit a home run, why? I've been married to her for 27 years and we've never once agreed on a vehicle and we both really like the GC Overaland looks, fit/finish, initial quality, $$ for $$ nobody can beet the features/options you currently get. Size is perfect not to big or small, It's considerably quieter inside than most, looks finally got agressive looking, it's simply near perfect.

This is saying a lot as we've owned lots of vehicles, we replace hers every 3 years. Mine usually every 4 or 80-100K

I could go on but... it would be more of the same, we buy a lot of vehicles.

She is going to come complaining about the fuel economy though, just saying...

Re: 2012 V6 Dual Exhaust?

How much highway driving does she do?

We do 50/50 and right now ours has a global average of 18.8MPG. I really think unless you do almost all highway driving, thats about the best you're going to do. Even with the 6, it just doesn't get good mileage. Our JGC replaced a Prius so imagine the adjustment period we're going through LOL.

As for the duals, it certainly is an option...it costs $1500 and comes with a V8
