Yes that's true you can buy a used vehicle. Just remember to add the cost of converting your speedometer and putting in daylight running lights (if they don't have it). Had a friend who but my bimmer and imported it to Canada. It ended up costing him a few grand but certainly nothing like what you're saving.
Funny you mention converting the speedo...The first time I drove the 2014 Overland V6 I looked down to the speedometer and said out loud there is no way I am doing 80, and the dealer said something stupid like yeah this car is so smooth. Then I realized the speedometer was set to KM/h, so that is a setting that can be changed on the digital speedometer.
