LOL Maybe they'll leave some horses alive for us. If not, we'll definitely have to ask for 'donations'.

You could just fix the sensor so it always thinks it's full, or put water or something in the tank and disable the urea injection so it is always full!

Hi Radknight,

thank you.

My wheels are from EtaBeta and the model name is Jofiel.

The Diameter is: 20 x 10 with an offset of 41. You can get it in different color choices.

They're also availabe in 22' inch - but remember... we drive a Jeep not a BMW so my decision was for the 20' inch!

Cool Re: 2014 ecodiesel test drive

Thanks Gigi. Looks like I can get them here in Australia. They seem to belong on this Jeep. The tires are just the right sidewall height without looking too skinny (and weak). What brand are they?

BTW: Heard the Aussie Jeep Service guys know absolutely nothing about diesels and are hopeless so screw the Zombie Apocalypse, I'm going with the 5.7L V8...for today at least. I still have time as I have to sell the Lexus. Who knows tomorrow I might decide on the SRT.

Re: 2014 ecodiesel test drive

After reading the Diesel supplement, it sounds like the jeep can sense if the right fluid is in the piss tank. So much for that idea

It is so easy to stop by a truck stop and fill up, at the diesel pumps, with DEF. It's $2.80 - $3.00 a gallon, nationwide, at Pilot Truck Stops. A tank full of DEF is good for 10,000 miles I think. I do go into a truck stop regularly because I am towing my car behind a bus.

yeah, I was wondering if you could just fill it with water, but that would just be too easy. If the Jeep knows that it isn't urea in the tank, I wonder how it knows, what kind of sensing equipment?

with the ever more encroaching nanny state, I wouldn't be surprised if it has a sat-link directly to the EPA: you fill your empty urea tank with water trying to pull as fast one, you get a few miles from your house, and the EPA is chasing you down with lights and sirens blaring!!

I heard they have road side smog tests in CA....what's next, road side proper tire inflation level checks? Officer says, "sir your tires are underinflated which is reducing your mpg which is destroying our planet. Gonna have to write you up and issue a fine."

The GC won't be sensing what's in the DEF tank, it will be sensing exhaust gasses probably Nox, if you try to use something other than urea it will change the exhaust gas make up and amounts

Re: 2014 ecodiesel test drive

My guess would be a conductivity sensor....with the DEF being at a certain range you would have to match it

Well, I was working within the confines of a zombie apocalypse. But, in such a case, a truck stop would still be a good place to find DEF, you just wouldn't need money to get it.

Yup and during the Zombie Apocalypse you'll probably find a huge supply of DEF because nobody will know what it is and tons of diesel because everybody drives gas driven cars which will be empty and abandoned on the freeway. Plus you could pick up a huge 18 wheeler diesel tanker to mow down zombies and tow your Jeep like a yacht tows a dinghy.

I might start a new thread on this.
