That is really cool! Thanks for sharing. Now if we could only fit that bad boy in to a WK2 platform I would be happy! Of course, would have to remove ECO before Diesel... and figure out how to keep the tires from constantly spinning from the torque.

wont be a problem. The block weight will keep the tires firmly planted.

Sand! Each loco has sand dispensers to help the steel wheels get a grip on the steel tracks. It's that first revolution that can get a little slippy.

Something tells me the block would crush the WK2 like a bug.

Re: 2014 JGC Diesel Ordering

I emailed Chrysler and politely asked them WTF?

Here's part of their response...

"According to our preliminary provided resources, we are currently
anticipating the arrival of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee models with the
3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine at the Jeep dealership showrooms in October
2013. We apologize for the delay, however, we are awaiting emissions
certification.
Chrysler Group LLC has not provided a specific timeframe
for the ordering availability of the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine.

To find out more on the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, dealer locations, and
many more shopping tools, please follow the links below:"

Re: 2014 JGC Diesel Ordering

Thank you for the info, this reason would explain a lot as to why things have gone the way they have on the release.
Chevy believes there is different reason (transmissions), and I read on another ordering thread that there are no pending EPA certifications for this engine.
Truth be told, I am not sure what to believe so I will just try my best to be patient. If I cannot get one by November I will have to bail on the waiting game myself.

Re: 2014 JGC Diesel Ordering

That scares the hell out of me if there's transmission issues. I was hoping to have the diesel out this spring so people could be the test monkeys so when I get mine in the fall I could have found out if there were any problems with the combo.

This makes me want to just keep driving what I have and maybe get one a couple years from now.

Pending certification... Haven't paid the right people... Or the wrong people paid the right people to delay? Or too much red tape to cut through efficiently... Could be anything delaying so my guess is outside Chrysler's control

No, he didn't say anything about quality issues, just a slow supply chain that might be holding up the release. Didn't mean to scare you!

Re: 2014 JGC Diesel Ordering

Have no idea if it is correct but stopped off at local dealer today and was told I could order CRD on 8/15 and expect delivery about 6-8 weeks later. No idea if he just made it up or it's real but he went to "check with the manager"for me to get accurate info.
