Ok, you keep your secrets. It must feel good to already have your order in MOTS. Us peeons have to wait to get in the queue.
Are you at all worried about getting one of the first diesels off the line as far as potential problems?

What is your job, that requires so much off-roading?
I'm a chiropractor but I have additional certification/training in treating animals. Since most cities have ordinances on keeping horses around I have to drive to them. I get paid mileage & I get to see really nice parts of the state, and the people I meet are genuine and down to earth.

I just got back from work tonight, I was working at a race track and at a horse show.

Not that I wouldn't love to tell everyone everything that is going on but then the open doors would close. Same as any of us that can get info, there are rules on what we can say or no more info, at all! Better for the group that we share what we can.

Not at all worried about the engine. There are only a couple of minor tweaks from what they have already been producing for years and nearly all of those are improvements. The only stuff that I can guess might be an issue is the urea system as this will be the first production run for that. They could have some minor problems there but DEF/ad blue has been in North America for a number of years now so the early issues have been largely sorted in the larger truck builds.

I know you likely read about a lot of problems here but the forum is an unfair skew to the problematic. Even the first units off the line of the petrol builds have been fairly problem free for a major refresh (outside of our little exclusive club here)

The only piece of information I need to know is when. If you tell me no diesel ordering in August, then I can order my HEMI® today.

Also, my salesman is now saying not until next year sometime...

Your salesdude might be trying to get you to buy something now so he won't lose a sale. At least I hope that's the case.

I will add that there has been nothing remotely official that there has been any further delay... TMK it is still on track.

I sincerely hope you are correct. If this is delayed much longer I will have to go with my alternate plan. There is no way in hell I am driving my Mustang during the winter!

Re: 2014 JGC Diesel Ordering

I think those of us who received the $500 Bonus Cash coupon (that expires 8/31) should all contact Corporate and ask strongly for a 90 (or so) day extension since it was sent to me with a big piece on the JGC Diesel. I have called and filed a "complaint" as instructed when they refused to extend the expiration date. I said this was absurd to send me a coupon that I could not use on the vehicle advertised with it, and then not to adjust the date to coincide with actual production.

Best response I got was "somebody may get back to you..or not".

Honest...yes, but that was not a very comforting answer and showed a company that doesn't seem to care.

Time to check out the 2014 X5 diesel that now will be out within 90 days or so of the JGC.

What could hold up the ordering until later and what has prevented us this far from ordering.

Without having knowledge of these facts prevents someone from knowing the actual date. Has the problem or problems that have held up ordering this long been dealt with. If somebody here knows these things they certainly aren't sharing.

Salesman is wrong. August allocation opens on the 9th.
