We made sure to check both options so that I for sure get the Trailer package. Has anyone else experienced this?
My dealer also did not have the Trailer Tow Group checked with AWY but left it blank as the AWY details said it is included.

Re: 2014 JGC Diesel Ordering

So I am starting to think maybe I should have at least ordered Off-Road Pckg 1 with my Limited.... here is my current order below:

Limited, Diesel, Luxury II, Tow Pckg, Engine Block Heater

This will have no tow hooks on it without getting the offroad 1 correct? Also the tires that come with the offroad 1 package are way better for winter and any offroad driving correct?

The way I was thinking about it before was I would just add the skid plates later if/when i decide I will do some more serious offroading. I am seriously concerned about having crappy all season tires that dont perform in winter and also a lack of any tow hooks. Thoughts?

The off road 1 does not have the tow pack. You need the off road 2 for the tow pack, but it also adds a few other nice things, like the quadra lift suspension and quadra drive 2.

Re: 2014 JGC Diesel Ordering

The off road packages do not come with off road tires. Jeep uses Michelin Latitudes on all their 18" wheels. (unless something just changed).

Michelin states these tires are designed for quiet highway driving, but Jeep calls them on/off road tires.

When I contacted customer service the woman I spoke to said that didn't sound right, but she would look into it. I asked her to take a quick look at the Michelin website and see what the manufacturer states about their tires. She told me she is not allowed to do that, that she has to go by whatever Jeep tells her. I guess if they are ignorant of the facts the reps can't be accused of lying.

Depends on if they are classified as all terrain tires. I know certain all terrains looks nothing like a tire that would perform well offroad but have personally watched it out perform good offroad tires. I looked and there is a Latitude All terrain

LTX A/T2 | Michelin Tires

That is the tire that Jeep should be using if they are adverting a Michelin on/off road tire. They use the Latitude Tour.

Re: 2014 JGC Diesel Ordering

The Latitudes that come with that package a pretty pedestrian... however, for an all season tire that particular one which is not from the HP series is pretty good in the Snow. My understanding is that they wanted to go with a higher quality of tire for the outdoor adventure package but they were terrified of lowering the ride quality of the JGC. So is the latitude an offroad tire, NO. Is it better quality than the forteras, Yes.

Ok so I'd be paying 500 and change for a few skid plates, no change in tires (even though the package makes it sound like it upgrades them), and front tow hooks?

Re: 2014 JGC Diesel Ordering

The reason I ask is there is a full set of skid plates on eBay for under 140 from a 2013...

-Fuel Tank Skid Plate Shield
-Transfer Case Skid Plate Shield
- Underbody Skid Plate
- Trail Rated Badge
- Front Suspension Skid Plate
- Tow Hooks

With Diesel according to what I see, you do not get Full Size Spare??? According to what I read here that is the case, Full Size Spare included with ERB or EZH (both petrol engines).

This is Milous domain though so I defer to his expertise. It would be highly possible though, the AdBlue tank on a Diesel takes up a bunch of extra space back there.

I've got to say the ride quality of the Michelin LTX M/S2 is excellent, and it's a way better tire for snow or off-road than the Latitudes or Forteras. I know the economics are much better for Chrysler to slap the same tire on every 18" wheel, but they really dropped the ball on this one. I would have paid more to order the LTX M/S2's from the factory. I ended up doing it aftermarket anyway. (I guess we're highjacking the diesel thread with a tire discussion---sorry!)

edit: I'm really happy the diesel ball is rolling for you guys!!
