With Diesel according to what I see, you do not get Full Size Spare??? According to what I read here that is the case, Full Size Spare included with ERB or EZH (both petrol engines).

This is Milous domain though so I defer to his expertise. It would be highly possible though, the AdBlue tank on a Diesel takes up a bunch of extra space back there.

I also saw somewhere that diesel came with tow hooks (maybe main jeep website?). So if no full sized spare with this package and no actual off road tires I don't see why I would order it as I can get skid plates online for 1/4 the cost.

Ok sorry to get everyone off topic, so gettin some diesels eh?

I would have paid more to order the LTX M/S2's from the factory. I ended up doing it aftermarket anyway. (I guess we're highjacking the diesel thread with a tire discussion---sorry!)

edit: I'm really happy the diesel ball is rolling for you guys!!
No worries, still talk in diesel orders so options a relevant...

Totally agree love the new M/S 2. They did a great job of improving the look and sound of the tire without loosing probably the best all around multipurpose traction of any tire (OK off road guys not saying it is the best off road tire but an excellent compromise with on road and winter performance as well).

Thanks Jacko!

Michelin states these tires are designed for quiet highway driving, but Jeep calls them on/off road tires.

When I contacted customer service the woman I spoke to said that didn't sound right, but she would look into it. I asked her to take a quick look at the Michelin website and see what the manufacturer states about their tires. She told me she is not allowed to do that, that she has to go by whatever Jeep tells her. I guess if they are ignorant of the facts the reps can't be accused of lying.

---
I'm going with the Off-road package, but I couldn't care less what the wheels or tires are. I am going with Cooper DISCOVERER A/T3™ and 18 inch ATX SERIES™ ARTILLERY TEFLONŽ COATED wheels. If the Off-Road package came with A/T tires, well I might stick with the OEM. The DISCOVERER A/T3™ has been top rated by Consumer Reports and a good fit for my needs.

Re: 2014 JGC Diesel Ordering

Found a dealership by me that has already ordered exactly what I'm looking for:
2014 Diesel JGC 4x4 Overland, Max Steel ext, Black int, Advanced Tech pkg, ORA2 pkg

They estimate it will arrive by end of Sept. $50,900 + $354 doc fee + $3181 tax + $125 new plates = $54,560. What do you think? Decent? Or should I look for a better deal elsewhere?

I received the same thing this morning. I'm sure that's a good sign! I'm more excited now than when I ordered the thing at the dealer.

There is no doubt you can get a better deal elsewhere. However, that is what I am paying with the Affiliate Rewards. But, I like my local dealer; they have put up with me all these months and they are only a few miles from my house. My difference is I have the Block Heater.

For accessories I suggest "justforjeeps.com". Also known as Central Jeep, Dodge, etc. in Norwood, on the AutoMile. I wish I knew that when I was up there in June. No shipping if you pick your stuff of there. Go Pats!

Speaking of which, major step forward for Matt's GC!! (This is actually an advance where the Factory now has the order in hand)
