Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Yep. I removed it just after that to compare and after a shorter run on the highway this week am only averaging around the 9.0. A lot more town driving though so not a true comparison but I think shows that it does make a difference on the longer trips.

Will need to check but I think it is 2/2 or 2/1. Only thing is that at that setting it sets off the ETC warning light under heavy acceleration.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Is it just me, or have other CRD owners changed their driving habits for the worst? I'm addicted to that fabulous surge of power (unchipped by the way), watching all but the high end performance vehicles quickly disappear in my rear view. The minister of war and finance has began to criticise a few of my antics & "wouldn't have let me buy the diesel if she new I would become a boy racer". Might be time to hang up my horns and get old graciously

LoL. Yes. It is just you.
You need to either accept your age, or replace the Missus.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

G'day guys new to this forum, just took delivery of a Black CRD limited after a 3 month wait. It will be used as a family car and tow vehicle for my car and trailer. We just traded a VE HSV 6.2L wagon :-( , but I still have 2 V8's left.

I wanted to comment on your chips, seems like the results are good. I have been tuning V8 LS engined Holdens for a number of years. After about 6 months of research I decided to get into to Diesel Chips not to long ago. During my research I found that a number of chips quoted the same power and torque figures for the same vehicles, it appears a number of them are actually made in the smae factory and just re stickered. I was at a loss to determine which one I would fit to customer cars.

I stumbled across the Aussie made 'Chip It' Diesel chips by accident and found not only are they built in Australia, made for our Diesel and conditions, they also come with full warranty. They are the only chip I could find which also plugs into the MAP sensor which allows mild increases in Turbo boost. So you get your fuel and boost upgrades. If you wish to spend the extra money you can get an exhaust temp gauge which hooks into the chip and retards the fuel and boost if the engine begins to get hot under load ie to much fuel.

I have fitted a couple to dual cab D4D Hiluxes and was amazed at the difference. They are able to be programed via laptop to different settings, for example the Hilux has 15. You can also custom tune them, which was my intention, however after fitting a couple, it wasn't worth the hassle of custom tuning, the owners were extremely happy.

I will be fitting one of these to our Jeep soon.

BTW very happy with the Jeep after 1 week of ownership.

PS. I have nothing to do with Chip It other than using there product, my tuning job is a 2nd job I actually sell tractors for a living.

Hey hrthsv,

I just looked at the Chip It website and they don't seem to have to current 177kw CRD engine in the JGC drop down menu.

Can I find it somewhere else?

Clarkey.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

I emailed them a couple of months ago when I was weighing up buying a new Colorado LTZ or the Jeep, they didn't have either up, they are slack and haven't up dated it, they are available, I didn't believe the quoted increases, after fitting a couple the increase is very surprising, the exact %, not sure but the gains a BIG. My wife is keen to do the Jeep, she's knows what gain I got her in the HSV wagon, the Diesel gains are alot bigger, at least in the Hilux anyway.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

They do go very well but lets put it in persepctive, SV6 Commodore and Eco Boost 4cyl turbo Falcon are both in the 6's 0-100 and an IX 35 Hyundai TD can match the 8.2s 0-100. Sorry guys hardly high end cars.
