I'm just looking at the 3 or 4 SS375 units I have here and they do 3.5 - 4" diameter filters. Most diesels are that size

You also could cable tie or hose clamp the FilterMag to the plastic filter. until next service when you buy a steel one

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Would just like to give some feedback on Chip It chips, in the last 2 weeks I have fitted 2 to 08 and 09 Prado's making them basically a match for the GC in stock form, which is an impressive gain.

But the most important thing was, there was an issue with one of the modules, I read the code and called WA on Friday before Christmas, warranty done over the phone and a new one arrived in my mailbox on 27th, excellent service. Now all I have to do is post the old module back in the supplied bag.

Hopefully I'll have one on the jeep to report on by the end of January.

What did you use to "green tune" your engine?

Hi Glenn, just been reading through this thread and totally agree. Have had my chip in for 10k now. Performance good though shift erattic and lazy, hangs in gear too long also. Car smells hot when towing. been to racechip a few times now and they keep giving me different combinations of numbers (think they make them up!) with no improvement on shift. Towing 2500kg to BNE to melb this afternoon so pulling the chip out; don't want to risk it. Anyone had similar issues?

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Some cars dont like the rail chips as they can upset gear change. That's especially true with cheap Chips from Europe. It's also why we fit our injector style Chips to some vehicles and not others.

Also, the Jeep will not like running hot. Google will tell you of Jeeps of some owners that failed to heed the warnings. A guy I know with a Jeep fitting an additional oil cooler because of the beach work he does. This is ALWAYS a good move and warranty will not be affected.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Try ( "9" , "B" ) for towing. You shouldn't have any errors.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Here is a thread for mods to the MB CRD Jeep OM642 CRD Performance Mod's . I guess we have this sort of thing to look forward to as people get more adventurous with the VM Motori. I must say it seems more "suck it and see" than science. I'm not sure if these modern engines appreciate this kind of approach.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Just sharing something I saw earlier in the week. I was looking at newly released John Deere 4 cylinder 4 valve T/D tractor and was quiet impressed when I saw it had a catch can factory fitted in the PCV return to the inlet manifold, the EGR system is also cooled by engine coolant before re entering the inlet manifold. It also had a large DPF. It was very intersting to see a tractor with in my opinion more bolt on technology than most 4wd's. They even have a hydraulicly driven fan only to cool the intercooler, surprising really.

Just wondering about the results on your Jeep chip.
I have been researching all the chips and chip It is at the top of the list.
