Wow! I'll certainly bookmark that. However I'm sure the price will be out of my league. It's so simple. It just plugs into the ODBII port and the internet and it reprograms the CPU. I guess it's wi-fi so one can do it at the Maccas car park while munching a burger. The downside is that the CPU may get reprogrammed to standard at each service.

SunShine, where did you see that it was approved by Jeep?

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Hi,

just from my Jeep dealer here.
it is about EUR 1.000,00 incl. sales tax, just a software update to the car from your
dealer. takes about 10 mins and you have a lot of fun then

you get a certificate. O.CT tuning is licensed by Jeep and you keep you full
warranty. if you go to a service with your vehicle later on you just have to
state that you got a chip tuning and present your certificate.
2 years warranty originally provided by the manufacturer after first registration of the vehicle (but max. of 120.000 km within these first two years, according to the O.CT warranty guidelines)

the only thing that is required by jeep is to change to oil of the gearbox
all 30000km. that's it.

after tuning you really feel that the jeep is much more punchy and accelerating
much quicker. all in all is there no negative influence of your diesel consumption.

just be careful, not to kick the car before your engine had a good warm up.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Got a reply from OCT. Price is EUR 1,512 about $1,890AUD. Then they said there is no distributor in Australia and left it at that.

oh, what a pity.

maybe your official jeep dealer can make a try, as it is only an online thing.

It's very highly likely probable that I will pull the trigger on the bluespark the end of this week, if my latest lot of overtime comes through in this weeks pay. ;-)

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

hi,

i would be careful with these "cheap boxes".
we had, not long time ago, a very interesting report about these stuff
here in germany.

they made various tests on volkswagen and bmw diesels and
after period of time running .... the exhaust temperatur was extremely high and
later on gearbox problems were found.

the result was quite shocking. not even one of these plug and play tools
was really working pretty well and the additional power was not reached.

maybe you try .... hopefully this tool will work, who knows ?!?

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

I was certainly wrong about the O.CT Tuning. I thought one gets a device to plug into the OBDII port to remap the ECU. It seems the O.CT dealer has the device. All one gets for EUR 1,512 (AUD 1,890) is a one off remap at the shop. I'b be freaking out every time I put the car in for a service lest they errase it. How long would it take to do a remap, 15 minutes? That's EUR 6,048/hour!

Once you got it and a licensed one, there are no costs to remap after a service for example.
