I know it's a pita when things seem to get lost in the mail!, I have had things take over 3 weeks to come from Singapore by mail!,
I don't see what Bluespark have done wrong!, they posted with Royal Mail, gave you a tracking number that worked while the package was in the Royal Mail system ?, now it is with another postal system (probably Australia post !) what can they do from their end (the UK) ?, it is quite common for tracking numbers to only work in the originating postal system!, I would expect you will receive it some time this week (probably got caught up in the long weekend mail slow down).
Hopefully you get a nice surprise in the mail this week!, if not hope you get a good result with PayPal

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

That is not even three weeks. I would wait another week or two. Perhaps you could check what exact address Bluespark or PayPal used. I've had stuff go astray for want of a comma rather than a full stop. Priority mail is always more reliable. I've had normal mail sit in a depot for over a week. Perhaps it just missed their once a week low priority overseas service or they had to wait for a full plane load to Australia. I'm sure it will turn up. Anyway, consider yourself luck to have bought it before the arse fell out of the Aussie dollar.

Received a package today from the USA, usual ship time is 7 to 8 working days for this package from this sender. It was sent may 7???? I received about 6 different packages from Europe in the last 2 months, customs hold ups have varied from none to 3 weeks ( ie they are shipped, landed , then not delivered by aus post for weeks.

It'll be customs screwing you round. If there is a tracking number, it shows it was sent, but Aussie red tape is thick and plentiful....

Col no guarantees it will come via Aust Post.

I thought mine would be but it was with UPS via Aust Air Express.( Different company that was owned by Aust Post & Quantas but now sold )

You will love it when it arrives.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Gents... very interested in the Bluespark... those numbers: 301 BHP (max: 307bhp), 688 Nm (max: 690Nm), and +5 to +15% MPG are awesome.

Question... what is the 8 spd tranny rated at for maximum torque? Anyone know off the top of your head?

They are still running the 5/6 until August. Same motor though

According to 845RE / 8R70: ZF 8-Speed Automatic Transmission for Chrysler cars it could be anything from 450, 700 or 900Nm. The 450Nm one is destined for the V6 petrol engine. My guess is the CRD will get a 700Nm box in either the Chrysler 870RE or the ZF 8HP70 forms.

The CRD is specced the hp70 transmission as is the hemi powered GC'c. The 70 is the nomenclature for torque handling, ie to 700nm. This is about as much as you get out of the 3.0 without changing turbo chargers as far as ican gather

The blue spark above reportedly can get to 690nm

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

You are correct... I found the hp70 on wikipedia and it is rated to 700nm. Thanks much!

All-out racers don't care about EGTs claiming you can't cook a turbo in 13 seconds....yes, there are diesel daily drivers that run low 13's in the 1/4. Really radical diesel racers are in the 10's with a 4x4 super duty pickup. 1500 RWHP/1400 TQ....amazing.

Gale Banks claims the GC's VM 3.0 block is reliable to 600hp. 200hp/litre is world class!

Excuse me...
Maybe I'm rather OT, but I would like to thank you and say...
I'm Italian and proud to see that you appreciate our diesel engines. It's a great success for us and, generally speaking, for all the European engineers and technicians that design and produce these powerful and efficient motors.
I know that low fuel cost in the past favored the development and diffusion of nice and massive V8 gasoline blocks in the US, but trust me!, we've been developing and refining beautiful, silent and smokeless direct-injection diesels in the old continent for more than 20 years!
As Italian, your big gas V8 will be always a pipe dream due to fuel cost and low mpg with respect to diesel. Now it's time for a big diffusion of modern and fast diesel engines in the USA, that up to date have been confined in a small portion of US car market, with the only exception of heavy duty trucks.

I appreciate that you chose to trust European technology. Please share your choice with your friends! Thanks and sorry for the OT!

Big block V8s are as American as the stars and stripes and our (up to now) ridiculously cheap gas has fed the craze for decades. I think we are well overdue for a conversion to a more economical fuel like diesel.

I am very excited to get my hands on that little high pressure massive torque Italian beauty and see what she can do.
