Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Yep off as in pulls hard, 50 to 90+mph its fast, 0-60 is around 6.5 and side by side with a BMW 325 petrol I lost about 2metres from 30 to 100 (private road). So the improvement over stock if more power all through the rev range.

Fitting wise it can be tricky, if the locking tab on the fuel rail plug is facing up you won't have a problem but if its facing down like mine and my bro's was then be prepared to do a bit, did I say a bit, I mean a lot of swearing trying to get the bugger off, after that its easy just two plugs and mount the box and your away.

I just bought the Pro without the Boost Control, I would be interested to hear people's thoughts on the Boost thingy as to if it works or not.

Hope this helps and I hope you guys get your diesels soon, power and economy, what's not to like.

The only negative thing I heard about boost control was the added heat at the EGR. Not really a short term issue but a longer term wear problem. I mean EGR replacement isn't that big of a deal but just a thought.

Chivvalry is more anxiously waiting than all the other Diesel folks put together

Awesome... just awesome. I intend to get the boost control due to the note about "Cleaner emissions. Particularly useful on DPF equipped vehicles."

Supposedly the boost control actually leads to lower EGTs than without....

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

I'll have email Bluespark and ask if a Boost thingy can be used with the Pro box. I only bought the cheap one and intended to get remap done, but as Jeep saw fit to lock the ECU it looks like it'll be a while before someone manages to hack it, hopefully when you guys get your diesels something will be done, there's not enough sales over here to warrant anyone to look into it.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

What I don't know though, is the Pro box the same as the box used with the Boost thing, does it have to be plugged into the box as there's no extra ports on the box I have. I'll email them and check, with any look its a stand alone plug in.

Ah, I get it now. Cool, let us know what they say! Maybe it is as easy as a software or firmware upgrade to the box even.

With any look it'll fit straight on, but I'll let you know and if it fits I'll let you know if its worth investing in.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Hi, the two boxes are different, the Pro dosn't have the boost sensing feature the Pro Boost has, they say you can add the Boost thingy but you won't gain as much torque as you would with the full setup, now I would try this but if you don't have something controlling the boost things could go bad so I think I'll leave it for now and pray that a remap comes out.

So if your planning on getting a Bluespark, go for the Boost version.

Hope this helps

Hi all, The blue spark pro + boost does not change the amount of boost, it monitor's it and optimises the fuel delivery for the amount of boost, it's basically an extra safety feature to stop over fuelling, it will give a small gain in power/torque and fuel economy
