No Problem. Eco mode changes transmission shift patterns not engine functions.

The new CRD supplemental manual states that the CPU detects and stores any and all "power enhancement" devices and can be retrieved at the dealer. This can void the warranty.

Anybody buying this or is it a ploy?

I've been running a Bluespark pro plus boost for @ 6 months (noticeably less lag in throttle response while at 60-80km), took the GC to dealer to get some updates done (removed Bluespark before going to dealer) they said it had thrown a code for a no start condition (we have had no no starts but ha) they replaced the intake manifold under warranty no questions asked, I then put the Bluespark back on happy days :-)

No idea but they already have a unit for it, see Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0 V6 CRD 2014 on (EcoDiesel) 247 BHP / 184kw Petrol & Diesel Chip Tuning Boxes . The inference is that they have tested it on that engine but so soon after its release, I have my doubts.

Keep in mind that this isn't a new motor. The Australian JGC has had this motor for a while now.

My understanding is that the Bluespark doesn't change the programming of the stock ECU so its not a true tuner. It instead manipulates the inputs and outputs to fool the ECU and Injection Controller to deliver more fuel. I'm not sure it is detectable unless it causes the ECU to generate codes when using the highest settings. From what I understand, these codes are stored in the ECU even after they are cleared.

Yes, same motor but the advertising shows the EcoDiesel to have slightly more power and torque that what we have in Australia. What they have done to achieve this, we don't know... yet.

I read somewhere it is just an injector change from solenoid to piezo injectors.

Globally the VM is Solenoid including USA. There is more power often when they go to DEF (Urea) aftertreatment because they no longer need to de-tune to attain the emissions standards. It happened with all of the pickup trucks in North Amerca already. Way higher horsepowers in DEF versions

That maybe the case in most markets except that the DEF is not on Australian CRD's. Maybe they just re-tuned anyway.

Yes I am aware of that, I was explaining the reduction in horsepower to many export markets without DEF. This has been needed to meet emissions standards often with using particulate filter only systems. So without Urea, to meet a local emissions standard you end up with a diesel with reduced output in many cases.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

And a great reason (to the wife in some cases) for purchase of a chip - to reduce fuel consumption and increase power and torque.
