Some parts of Melbourne are hilly

Although having said that, I am in the flatest part.

BUT

on steep boat ramps, it really only takes a second to turn on (but ironically holds the vehicle still for only a second or so, based on angle and weight of boat as well pulling it downhill - the damn foot operated park brake reduces the ability to hold and gradually release - unleash your inner taxi driver, left foot braking ((yes, I know not everyone uses their rig for 4wd, but left foot braking is a very legitimate offroad technique

3:05 shows (yeah I know they diffs are different)

it can get you moving in vehicles that have traction control systems as well (((special note - I have heard that the wk2 diesel may go into limp mode, as pressing the brake sends the signals to electronically reduce boost whilst foot on the throttle say boost away baby - I will test nextime offroad, restarting car fixes error))))

Again, credit goes elsewhere BUT turn it off and go for drive. The setting dicks with throttle responsiveness , not just the controlled takeoff.

With it on, it exacerbates the feeling of lag and like of throttle response. It might be a personal preference, but I am used to gentle prods of throttle to move.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

The problem with left foot braking in the GC is that it can throw a code and put the car into limp mode.
Stupid that it does consider there are valid uses for having both applied.
There are several reports on here and other sites of people getting their cars towed as a result.

Interested yes, but it's a tuning box at a remap price. Why is it worth four times as much as a Bluespark?

I dont know Bob possibly due to each injector being controlled against just a increase in fuel pressure. R&D cost, as steinbauer are on there own and alot of the others are clones of each other they would be cheaper due to economy of scale.

I posted this up as I have been unable to find someone who has one on a VM motor. Plenty out there on others that have done 100k trouble free.

I cannot wait forever for full tuning via obd port and so this will be what I get.

I have a steinbauer installer not far from where I live

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

I'm enjoying the additional $330 for what is basically a car alarm remote keyfob.

WIRELESS REMOTE
Conveniently turn the power on or off with the touch of a button.
$330

Comedy pricing.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

I just noticed that is extra, I thought for that price it included the switch and remote.

Here is the install guide - http://www.steinbauer.cc/media/kb/in..._28_220093.pdf

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

That torque figure is extremely appealing. I wonder how it would translate into our climate, as it's bound to be from colder parts.

I think you need to get one Wade

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

220kw would be nice but for that price I think I'll stick with my bluespark.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

My guess is, the Steinbauer is for those that think Rolex and Nikon are good value whereas the Bluespark is for those that think that Casio and Pentax do the same job.
