Did an install on a mates WK2 today, so thought I would add some notes.
The package comes with a chip, a testing Yellow LED adapter, wire loom utilex clips and an installation guide.
For a start, you cannot do it in 5 mins. Unless you have baby hands. Allow about 30mins, which is mainly down to the difficulty of getting the factory plug unclipped from the fuel rail. It is right at the back of the motor, and has very little room to get to it.
Step 1: Remove the engine cover. It is just clipped on, so lift the front up, then the back. It sits on 4 pins.
Step 2: Locate the fuel rail plug. It sits at the back of the motor, about 50mm below the top and to the right. You will see a yellow clip on the side of it. There is a bigger plug above it, and you may find it easier to access the fuel rail plug if you remove the one above first. It sits on 2 pins, so just pull it upwards.
Step 3: Now that you can see the fuel rail plug, with a screwdriver, push the yellow clip on the side, towards the firewall. Then reach in, and remove it completely. This will allow you better access to remove the plug.
Step 4: With a flatblade screwdriver, press on the side of the plug, releasing the catch, while you pull the plug backwards towards the firewall.
That is the hardest part now done.
Step 5: Using the Y Connector Lead from the package, insert 1 end into the Fuel Rail. Make sure it clicks in. The yellow clip you removed will not fit this plug, as it is a different fitting. Keep it safe for later when you need to remove the chip and revert to the original setup
Step 6: Fit the plug you removed to the other end of the Y Connector.
Step 7: Do not fit the chip, but leave the yellow LED connector attached.
Step 8: Turn the ignition to "ON" but do not start the car. The Yellow LED should light up. If not, you have a problem, so check your connections. If it does, then turn off the ignition. When the Yellow LED has died, Remove it and replace it with the Chip.
Step 9: Start the engine. The car I worked on ran rough for a few seconds, then idled normally.
Step 10. Tie down the chip, and replace the engine cover.
ALL DONE. You should notice a noticable change in the engine performance.
