Yup the NAG1 or New Automatic Gen 1 in the srt. W5A580 in laredo and crd. The Nag being the Chrysler built one

The 580Nm is a continuous rating. Anything above that could be looked at as red-lining the gear box. It won't necessarily break it but may reduce longevity. In any case, it is unlikely that max torque would be used for more than a few seconds at a time.

Agreed. A lot of times that rating is a safe number. Maybe a 1/4mile at a time at higher levels of power

May not be max, but it will spend most of its time above 580 N-m. That's is one of the best things about having a turbo diesels, massive torque early, and peak torque without too much effort.

The only thing id be worried about is when towing you would be using close to max torque, specially on hills.

You're still producing max torque well before max revs.
Have a look at that graph, they are over 600 N-m early and for most of that test.

Yep, you'll use pretty much all available torque taking off... if you do it in 4th gear
