GDE have been around for a long time and are well and truly tried & tested.
Had one on my 2007 WH/WK .......no problems.

Cheers, Craig
The GDE tuning process can be found here Green Diesel Engineering . I love the idea of a flash tool to upload custom maps oneself using the OBD plug. At last a reasonably priced user friendly re-map method. Only one problem, nothing for the WK2 as yet.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Sounds like a great idea but I would have thought they would have to crack bypass or crack the ECU encryption to enable flash from the OBD port.

You are right. I contacted GDE and it doesn't sound hopeful that this will be available any time soon and probably never for the 2011-2013 export WK2's. Back to the drawing board.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

I highly recommend these guys Jeep Common Rail Diesel « Horsepower Factory

Matt is an AUSJEEPOFFROAD forum member. He has tried and tested almost every plug in chip available on his own WK2 and their ECU program is the best to date. Matt has done extensive towing, off roading with the upgrade.

Cheers, Craig

OBD flash tuning these late model cars not an easy thing, I have fingers in all sorts of different pies and know-one I know of is close to offering this feature for the WK2 Jeep ECU.

A quality chip or module can make almost as much power as custom ECU tuning, however, HPF do not lean hard solely on the injector pump to do all the work, instead, we add a little fuel pressure, open the injectors for a little longer and off set that with more boost to maintain the EGT's and the whole engine remains happy, safe and under-stressed.

One more thing to keep in mind, HPF do not offer generic flash tuning, each car is custom tuned on the dyno, when it leaves the shop its right, first time.

Yes I work there.

Great... if you live in Melbourne... and want to part with $1,195. What happens when the dealer does a re-flash?

True, always a catch somewhere right?

If the dealer reflashes the ECU we keep the tune on file and can easily reload it. We reload the tune and check the car back on the dyno to make sure it's doing what it's supposed to. It cost the price of a dyno run $165.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

One reason why these tunes turn me off, and the removable boxes are appealing. No dramas when it comes to having the dealer touch the car. It may not end up being the best possible tune, but the hassle involved would be a real pain in the ass.
