Matty,
Which module did you get and at what settings were the results?

I bought a Bluespark Pro, but it's actually badged and labelled as Outlaw4x4.
Does the same thing, most likely comes out of the same factory too.
TUNIT DIESEL CHIPS and Outlaw 4x4 diesel performance modules

I assume it has the factory settings as it was tested in Matt's (Trailhawk) car before I bought it.
Maybe he can answer if it's been changed or not from factory.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Matty's diesel module is set pretty high as I remember, but I never had any check lights. I did not install it last week but I'm sure its on the highest MAP.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

I should clarify that it was actually installed by one of the guys at HPF, not Trailhawk himself.

Cheers,
Matt

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

The Bluespark blanking plug I ordered arrived. Total cost plus postage came to $20.63 AUD. The blanking plug plugs into the leads in place of the Bluespark box returning the engine to stock without the need to remove the leads. God knows why they used a 12 pin plug when only 4 pins are used. When viewed from the pin side of the plug, there are 2 rows of 6 pins, one row in the centre and one towards the bottom edge. The only pins that are used are the first 4 pins from the left of the middle row. Pin 1 is shorted to pin 2 and pin 3 is shorted to pin 4. If one wanted to make up a blanking plug, good luck finding a plug but one could achieve the same result by making up a pair of jumpers to fit into the corresponding socket holes.

With the blanking plug on, it was like reacquainting oneself with an old gentle giant of a friend, smooth but stiff with plenty of torque and power. I had been running the Bluespark at the default setting of C6 which is supposed to be for torque. I found this to run slightly rough but with brutish acceleration. Now I'm running it at E6 (for power). I find this much smoother that the torque setting and better accelerator response so I'll stick with this for a while.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

I asked Bluespark a question about the function of 0-9 dial. This is their reply,
"Hi Bob,
You are correct, 0 returns to stock performance 9 is the maximum application of the curve. It is non linear so setting 1 does not mean barely any tune, it starts off at around 50% of maximum.

Thanks
Bluespark"

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Good evening, I'm from Brazil. Forgive the typos, you're using google translator.
In March 2015 I bought a GC limited diesel and am so far satisfied.
I'm thinking of installing a power chip or chip peformance or tunnig (I do not know how you call it)
In Brazil the jeep cars are not very popular so do not have many people to exchange information.
I wonder if putting chip and removing it when you take the revisions Dealers (durantre guarantee) they must detect that my jeep had installed chip
thank you for help.

Maybe but I doubt if any Jeep dealer would have the brains to know what he was looking for.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

BobT, thanks for your opinion. My thought is not very different from his, because I intend to install italianspeed the module, which allows its placement and removal in five minutes.
It turns out that my friends commented that the concessionaires, at the guaranteed review, have computers and scanners which can travel the memory of the electronic center of my GC and realize that there were variations. This is my concern.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Hi, I just wanted to share an problem I had with my bluespark chip that led me to binning it a week ago.
Now I had my chip fitted for almost a year with no dramas, using it mainly on the default setting. Late last year though I started having an issue with my car, it was like I would experience a moment of engine braking when changing up into a higher gear when a cruising speed was reached, at first I just ignored it since a lot of other people were reporting gear shifting issues. And then one day on the freeway after passing a car it happened which brought up a 'service electric throttle' alarm and an engine light, I also soon realised the car was stuck in eighth gear and would not shift into any other gear. The next day I removed the chip before taking it to the dealership for said issues, after starting the car and finding the alarms gone, I decided to risk a drive and for the first time in 2 months the car was changing gears perfectly again, none of the weird engine braking.
Now after some 6 months and 22,000kms with none of the above problems, I decided to give the chip another go. At the time of the issues, I had the chip on a higher setting, so I was hoping maybe that was the cause, plus I wanted to confirm it was indeed the chip and not a jeep thing. So with the chip back on the default setting I had about a day of problem free driving, then I started to experience a noticeable surging sometimes when my foot was just touching the accelerator (engine braking, acceleration, engine braking, acceleration etc..) and then later in the day my car had another meltdown when pulling onto a busy T section, the throttle alarm and engine light came up again, with the car stuck in third. Turned the car off until the dash died then restarted, throttle alarm cleared, able to shift gears but engine running really rough and lumpy. Got back home, removed chip, started car and engine was running normal again, no more surging when driving either.
Hopefully no one else will have this problem but if your car starts surging or engine braking like I've mentioned, I'd look at the chip as the cause and remove it quickly.
I should also state that I didn't have mine in that felt bag (I thought it was just a complimentary carry bag...) and it was one of the earlier units that had the 1 to 9 dial and a small pot for fine adjustment.

Wade

Hi Wade
thank you so much for your detailed answer and explanation. I will be alert to any abnormalities. Is already a month installed a chip italianspeed.com.eu and how it has four different modes put in smoother and I regulated the potentiometer to operate only 50%.
So far has behaved well, any other situation I will report
