Still have to log more data as the EGTs are a bit on the high side, but havent done exhaust or intercooler yet either.

That's pretty cool. However, remember that all the figures in the world mean zip unless you get that push in the back when you touch the throttle but I'm sure you are getting that.

As I understand it, torque figures quoted by manufacturers are "flywheel" torques measured by attaching a dynamometer to the engine on a test bench. The Jeep does not come with some mini dyno attached to the engine. So how do they get a torque readout on the dash? My guess is that it is a calculated figure based on a function of revs and the fuel injection rate from the CPU all calibrated back to the known test bench figure. Given how clumsy dashboard fuel consumption figures are, I would take the considerably more complex torque readouts with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, as means of comparing one run to another, they should be good. Were you to put your car up on a wheel dynamometer the figures will be entirely different and not comparable to you dash readout. Here the figures would be influenced by the overall gearing, transmission, diff ratio, wheel diameter less overall transmission losses.

Regarding the EGT's, are they true EGT's or something else. The reason I ask is that my scan tool would not give me EGT's. Why, I don't know. The scanner did however give me cat temperatures which is weird because the CRD doesn't have cats, it has DPF's which do have temperature sensors so I'm assuming what it called cat temperatures were actually DPF temperatures.

Ha! Just checked under the bonnet of my 3L CRD for the Vehicle Emission Control Information. I can confirm that it is indeed certified for OBD-II but it is also nominated as a 3.6L engine certified for fuel: gasoline/ethanol I've been using the wrong fuel for the past 4 years

Shit I laughed so hard I almost wet myself.

I am using Torque Pro on my phone and have 2 readings EGT and CAT. I have just changed all my logging data to include more and will post it up next week. Some of the other ones I need to get working such as ignition timing, etc the formula not working.

The problem is as there is no data out there we dont know when we make any changes are they for the better or worse, or if we make a change do we need to then make others to compensate.

The more data people collect and discuss the more we can make the right choice.

So after logging data for a month I am planning on getting my exhaust done and will then see if that makes a difference to my EGTs, then it will be intercooler and tubes.

Once I post the data up later this week will see what everyone else thinks.
