Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Mine was pulling hard overtaking 8 cars @170km/h. Solid as a rock and got there quickly.

Good point! It shows Chrysler has confidence in the W5A580. I might have a look at a chip myself down the track, after you guys have the done the testing for me . Anyway, I have yet to get anywhere near the CRD's limits.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Yep. The fastest I've had mine upto was 155 and it go there with no fuss at all. I was rapidly approaching a 90 zone so had to back off.

We went to dinner with some friends on Saturday night and took our GC. They had taken delivery of a new Passat 125TDI Highline at the same time we got the GC. On the drive home, I squeezed the throttle just a bit and everyone felt the shove in the back. My mate turned to his wife and said "this is way quicker than ours".

Hehehe ... I think I'll get a chip too.

I tried it as high as number six but was not able to use this setting without the malfunction light coming on. In the end I have been running switches at 3 and 2 for the last two weeks with no malfunctions, bags of torque(the back steps out if you use too much throttle in the corners) and fuel consumption is about the same(would probably be better but it's more fun to drive now ).
If it's similar to the Racechip Pro the left dial adjusts the power while the right dial adjusts the rev range that the power is applied to. I currently have mine set to F (left dial) and D (right dial). It accelerates very quickly from a standing start, intersections and the like and has done away with that 0-1800rpm lag and has so much torque all through the rev range. So far fuel consumption actually appears to be slightly less than before, currently on about 10.8 around town whereas before was on 11.0. No warning lights, no smoke, engine idles and sounds the same and does not appear to overworking or smelling hot etc.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

My Mate's RaceChip produced a fault last week, with both a Malfunction warning Light as well as a Electronic Throttle fault. Fault occurred while at normal driving with very light throttle.
The Electronic Throttle warning went out when the Chip was removed.
Race Chip advised to change the settings from B2 to B9.
He has not yet reconnected to test.

Is there any pending notifications in the messages section of the EVIC in your mate's GC?

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Only 1 after the chip was removed. Local Dealer fixed that with their tool.

This happened to mine also last weekend when testing a higher setting (2). ETC light came on so I stopped the car, restarted and the light went out. Later the engine malfunction light came on and stayed on. The car drove normally on both occassions. When I got home I changed the settings and did a google re the light. Turned ignition on and off 3 times and it seemed to reset the warning light. Currently have mine set to 1 and 9 and am quite happy.

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

I'm not sure if it's a difference in the RaceChip Pro and the Ultimate, which is what I have, but i've still been running the Ultimate at settings 3 and 2 with the throttle warning light coming on once in the last two weeks after some "heavy" acceleration but no malfunctions. This light went out when I stopped and restarted. Without resetting the trip gauge and only doing city driving in peak and off peak i'm averaging 9.5l/100klms. I was going to play with the second rotary switch to see what difference it makes to the delivery across the rev range but have been so happy with the current set up I haven't bothered. Definately money well spent with the Ultimate

Mine is off at the moment. I took it off prior to service but they didn't have the front tow hook and Satnav aerial ready so I have to take it back in the next couple of weeks. I'll put it back on after that.
