I know there has been no official word unless I totally missed something, BUT.. On my way in to work Friday (I work downtown Detroit) I passed a semi carrier loaded with WK2's. I was paying a little extra attention as I am not an owner of one just yet but each one on the truck had CRD badges, at least the ones I could see the rear of. Could this just be a load of test vehicles or has anyone heard something else? They were all headed east on I-94 towards Dearborn.

Agreed they were likely headed for export.

The "handed-ness" would't tell you anything. Right-hand drive could be bound for Australia or the UK, but continental Europe uses left-hand drive like we do in the states.

Ah, good call. Sadly I was hitting my exit ramp as I was passing them up, didnt get that close of a look.

I was under the impression that all right hand drive Chrysler product was assembled in Graz Austria, near the German border. I know for a fact that my 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited CRD was, and also my 2008 Grand Cherokee Overland CRD, that I have just sold to make way for our new beast -now five days old and 455kms on the clock.

The new WK2 Diesel is a definite head on competitor to Audi Q7, VW Touareg, Mercedes ML and BMW X5. Runs rings around Toyota Prado and the Jeep is least expensive, by up to $30k in some cases. It is just a shame they cannot screw enough together to cope with the excessive demand. The adaptive cruise control is a stunning feature making highway cruising very relaxing. The hydralift air suspension provides great ride quality with nice precise handling, as well as the automatic levelling when towing a heavy load or loading up the rear storage.

I am "over the moon" with our new GC and with fuel economy already around 8Lt / 100km (34mpg) and expected to get better as we put a few more miles on it, it is definitely smiles all round.

Cheers Chris
