Guys,
Got talking today about fuel conditioning and was recommended this product by a friend. Anybody else use it or have comments. I know of one WK2 owner who swears by it decreasing fuel consumption with a bit more grunt.
I haven't used the product you referenced but it does look good on paper.
Having tried a few for my WK2 I have settled on liqui-moly diesel boost atm. Another product I like is redline 85 plus for the CRD which looks similar to what you want to use.
In my td5, well it has good old 2-stroke at 1:200 ratio.....
I wouldn't mind trying 2-stroke in the WK2 as guys in Europe still praise the same benefits in their CRD's, ie quieter idle, smoother engine and so forth.
I'm 3 tanks into opti-lube xpd. I've been putting in 8oz for a full tank. So far so good. For me it's all about mpg and smooth operation. The GC is so smooth to begin with, and I love the slight diesel chatter sound.
So, I was avg 26+mpg for the 1st 3800 miles. Have 5200 on it now. Jeep is 6 weeks old. My last 2 tanks I'm avg 27.2 mpg. I'd post a pic but I don't know how. I haven't reset mpg and only reset the trip which shows mpg for tank and for all 5000 miles.
Very impressed. If there is something wrong with this thing....I'll find it. I drive 50k plus per year.
I've run in to a sizable quantity of free Fuel Doctor (conditioner/injector clean) and ran the shock treatment initially followed by 250ml per tank for the last 4 fills. I can confirm there is a noticable improvement on pickup and fuel consumption is slightly improved, (7.6L/100 on highway).
Tanks with it average about 1.5mpg better and the engine is noticeably smoother. The added lubrication agents are also good insurance should you run into some lower quality diesel.
I used to run it in my Audi TDI and i would consistently average 3mpg higher with smoother running as well.
I buy it in the large jugs and then just refill a 16 oz container when needed.
Use Morey's diesel conditioner in my 2012 with 45k on the clock and find the car definitely runs smoother and my last fuel fill average was 7.4 lts/ 100 klms with a mixture of hwy and city driving. Have been using this since new.
I'm using the Chemtek
? additive that the Pajero forum recommended. Used it on my Pajero and it was good, can't see why the WK2 would be different. If anyone can tell me differently please let me know!!
Haven't added anything to the WK2 diesel as yet, however did add it to my WH/WK for two years prior to selling it.
It certainly quietened the engine and the oil stayed really clean.
liquid moly is what I use. I used to use diesel kleen in my cummins and sawore by it. I used to mix marvel mystery oil and diesel kleen and that mix seemed to be what the guys making big power were using. smoothed out the running of the engine.
