Re: Diesel oil Filter

Central Coast Chrysler Jeep spare parts , "Quote" oil filters for 3.0 diesel in short supply, hurry and get one, only $73.00, can you believe it, do any of them actually have a pricing standard or do they just make it up as they go. I think its the dealers ripping in as often as they can, I spoke to my local Bursons part suppliers and they said aftermarket filters will be available from July 2012. Cant wait.

I was told by Sydney Filters, that MANN filters have a part number and were in development a few months back. They were due around July as well.

So it looks like the stars are aligning on this one.

Re: Diesel oil Filter

Hi Guys,

I recently purchased one of these oil filters for my wifes 2012 Grand Cherokee Limited diesel and after getting it out of the box I was very
dissapointed as it looks like a 50c piece of crap !

K & P Engineering in the states has the solution but not for Grand Cherokee diesels as far as I know.

http://www.kandpengineering.com/tech...ghlights.shtml

Superior Filtration, Flow, billet aluminium filter case etc etc.

I have 1 of these filters on my motorbike and they are awesome quality
easy to clean and re use.

Hopefully when the GC diesel becomes popular in the USA they will bring one out that fits.

Cheers Guys I have just got my first post away

Re: Diesel oil Filter

Folks,

I went to my local autopro store thother day and they quoted me $20 + freight for an oil filter for my 2012 CRD.

It seems that wesfil-coopers are doing them now. check out the link to the listing below

I checked with them (Eziautoparts) today, for this response....part email quoted.

"Links to the parts are as follows:

WA5135 - http://www.eziautoparts.com.au/wesfi...er-wa5135.html - $20.40
WCO163 - http://www.eziautoparts.com.au/wesfi...er-wco163.html - $16.70
WCF203 - http://www.eziautoparts.com.au/wesfi...er-wcf203.html - $29.25
WACF0154 - http://www.eziautoparts.com.au/wesfi...-wacf0154.html - $17.55.

We donít have these filters in stock but Wesfil has stock. I am ordering from them today so, if you want to purchase and order before midday, I can have them in the mail to you either tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday morning."

I will order a cabin filter and spare fuel filters from them. For now I'll stick with genuine air filter and oil filter.
John

Re: Diesel oil Filter

I ordered a cabin filter @ $17.55 and 2x fuel filters @ $29.25/ea from them just now. Total price inc postage was $90.75. Was a very easy transaction over the phone.
Pretty reasonable I thought and I'll check out the quality and make a decison on the air and oil filters.
Thanks Swampthing1962 !! for the original info.

Re: Diesel oil Filter

I took advantage of John's advice and purchased fuel, air and oil filters all of which i have used twice with no problems at all and no negative feedback from the dealer who was happy to fit them instead of Jeep branded products. I keep spare fuel filters under the passenger seat in case we get bad fuel away from home as most jeep dealers wont have them. I just need a spare serpentine belt now but nothing non genuine i can find yet!

I got the filters 2 days after ordering and the quality looks pretty similar to the Jeep ones I looked at when I checked out the spare parts dept. Considerable difference in price though.
I'll be giving the dealer a miss from now on for whatever i can source elsewhere......our Jeep just had a 20k service and the dealer didn't even have an air filter in stock - pretty ordinary in my opinion so the aftermarket suppliers can get my business. I supply my own Chrysler compliant MS11106 oil at service so the dealer gets a chance to slug me for an oil filter then.
Like Hickers I keep 2 spare fuel filters in with the spare. (the diesel uses 2 filters)

Re: Diesel oil Filter

Wesfil are a good brand, and are OEM quality so they wont void warranties.

Just had a browse the Wesfil listings and noted that they dont list any filters for the Pentastar or Hemi engined WK2's.
