In general I get about 9.5l per 100kms. Has 14000kms on the clock and hasn't really changed. I reset the avg fuel cons every tank.

Took it for a drive up the Blue Mountains to finish running it in. Went up the Bells line of Road, across to Mount Victoria and back via the Great Western Highway, M4 and M7 motorways to give me a range of driving conditions over approximately 200km (120 miles) A lot of the stretches coming back through the mountains were bumper to bumper due to roadworks. Overall fuel consumption was 8.4 lt/100km (28 MPG).

Selous my, calculations in imperial MPG is 33.64.
8.4/100= 11.9km/ltr=7.4miles/ltr=7.4/.22=33.636 imperial mpg, did you calculate on US mpg?.

Did 800kl last week end between Atherton tablelands & Townsville, averaged 8.4 L/100k for the trip. Tow a 2500kg caravan and get about 16l/100kg. Very pleased.

Re: Fuel consumption on my new 3.0 CRD limited -

Just did 1000km at an average 100km/h (60mph) got 8.9lt/100km without Cruise control (thanks for breaking it Jeep Mosman !!!) so I was hard on the throttle than if I had cruise.
Was very happy with the economy as our previous SUV would have done 12's (Turbo Territory).

Re: Fuel consumption on my new 3.0 CRD limited -

Has anyone tested, I mean really tested, if there is a difference in fuel consumption between Sport and Normal mode? I read somewhere (not the manual) that Sport mode changes the shift points as well as ride height so fuel consumption should be greater but I'm wondering if it is significant.

Re: Fuel consumption on my new 3.0 CRD limited -

How do you put the CRD in sport mode?

Is this putting the shift selector into semi automatic?

You turn the Selec-Terrain knob two clicks anticlockwise. However, each time you restart the engine, it annoyingly defaults back to Auto (normal).

Just spitballing here.... The sport mode directs 80% of drive to the rear wheels making it closer to a 2wd vehicle. Would this make a difference? The shift points wouldn't make a lot of negative difference on a long highway drive and obviously aerodynamic ride height would help but only marginally because it will still drop when you hit the required speed.

Thanks.

Never had the need to turn that Knob yet. It is unlike me to be unfamiliar with these things. I better get with the program...
