Re: Fuel consumption on my new 3.0 CRD limited -

Brisbane to Rocky. An amazing 8.1L/100. Couldn't believe the needle was still showing above half after an 8 hour drive with about another 450kms DTE, non stop with speeds up to and beyond the legal limit and plenty of stop starts with the ongoing roadworks.

Gonna take the back road home on Friday missing the A1 and see how it goes...but the economy is AMMAAZZING!!!

PS ...and super comfortable. Got out after 8 hours in the saddle almost as fresh as I got in earlier that day!! Just sick of listening to a loop of Coldplay's XYZ due to lack of radio reception!

Re: Fuel consumption on my new 3.0 CRD limited -

I am driving to the Gold cast on Saturday, just under 900km.
I will be resetting all the trip/fuel meters and measuring the results.
I expect 1 tank and still a 1/4 left.

I did a lap of Sydney today for work, Baulkham Hills to Narellan on the M7, Narellan to Sydney CBD via the M5 then back to Baulkham Hills on the M2 and averaged 6.9l/100. (Total 165km)

Coming up to my 10k service my fuel consumption has shot up to 11.5 L/100km. I have noticed that the engine seems to be revving higher during gear changes, like the clutch is slipping. Will see what the service guys have to say about it next week.

I just went from Sydney to the gold coast. All driving was set for 10km/h over the limit.
Average for the whole trip was 8.3l/100km. First time I have done the trip on a single tank and still had a 1/4tank left. The ACC made the whole drive heaps easier.

Re: Fuel consumption on my new 3.0 CRD limited -

Just clocked up my first 500 km and very impressed with the fuel economy of the diesel 7.8 to 8.3 lts per 100klm a combination of city/highway driving.

Hi Jeepthingy, thanks for the reply I have been told that the weight distribution hitch aids the the QL, I don't know if I want to chance heading off on my big trip around OZ without it or if the WDH will hinder the QL so confused????? a big gamble either way.
