My jeep gc wk2 2011 crd diagnosed with swirl motor failure. Is this a common issue with this new motori Diesel engine like the old merc engine?? Has any of you experienced this. I am still under the 3 year warranty in uk so no cost to me but how long the new motor will last. My jeep is two year 10 month old with 20,000 miles on the clock.
Any advice. Thanks
Further to my post garage started work on swirl motor replacement and now saying they need more parts than ordered and new parts need to come from the USA and May take up to two weeks as none in UK. Normally any other make of car parts are sourced by next day.!!!
Swirl pot motor actuates a flap in the air intake to mix the air flow for the engine to run better at lower speed. This has failed on the pre 2010 Jeep gc wk Merc Diesel engines due to oil contamination by leaking turbo hose seal and that's my understanding unless someone else can explain this better?
I have not heard of this failure in the new VM Motori Diesel engine in gc wk2. Is mine the first and one off or is it going to be contagious? Cheers.
Got the jeep gc wk2 back after week and a half for swirl motor / inlet manifold replacement. Parts alone came to £1800 + 10 hours labour. That is over $4000+? Luckily my Jeep is still just under the standard three year warranty.
Now I am trying to get extended warranty before the manufacture's warranty runs out in six weeks. Jeep dealers saying that Jeep is trying to setup the extended warranty but delayed due to Fiat takeover? Has any one else had the similar issue with swirl motor and extended warranty?
After all the above issues I have a coolant leak from the water pump and awaiting a replacement before the warranty runs out by end of September. Has any one changed the water pump recently on wk2 crd? I cannot find any technical details on this or a part number for future reference. I have done just 20000 miles and two water pumps?
