New Emissions equipment in USA

Right now I drive a 2011 BMW 335d, as in diesel. I am looking at getting a Jeep diesel in the next cpl years.

With the 335d all the new emissions stuff was new, at least in some way, in the U.S in 2009. While they have had the same engine in Europe for a while before 2009, there was not the strict emissions equipment on their cars ever.
On the BMW forums there is talk of the U.S. version 335d being the test mule for BMW for all the new USA emissions equipment, as well as the problems that come up with being the first version!
Now 4-5 years later you see BMW coming out with multiple new diesel vehicles.

So my question, does the diesel jeep we are getting in the USA have the exact same emissions equipment as the rest of the world.

I ask, because if so hopefully this will limit the number of problems associated with the emissions system.

Re: New Emissions equipment in USA

The emissions equipment is currently unique to North America. However, with the Euro 6 standards looming, I would think the same equipment would be used in Europe as well, broadening the user base.
