Here in Poland it was kind of a deal between an importer and one of the tuning services.
Warranty was still valid if chip was mounted in these particular company.
But it was before Fiat took control over Jeep and became an importer...

What model jeep do you have?

Fiat took over before the WK2 came out!

Exactly.
When I was test driving new CRD dealer told me that there will be a chip modification and told me about this previous situation with old CRD engine.

Sorry about the late reply as have not been on forum for a while. I'm on the Gold coast in Queensland Australia. To those that are looking for a plug in chip unit do a search and make sure the seller has the one that is for the 3.0 fiat motor not the merc motor. The fiat motor is a better performer anyway with more of everything.

Alll that we already know...
The problem is that nobody here in Europe have heard about a chip for Fiat's (VM Motori to be exact) engine so that's why I'm so curious where is yours come from?

OK sorry again about slack reply time. I got mine through EASYCHIP UK. They initially sent me the wrong wiring for it however sent the correct one when asked. Many of the units are from the same manufacturer and just rebadged for the retailer. They will try and tell you that theres is better but that is rubbish. email is sales@dieseltuning.uk.com

Simply unplug before service. It only takes a few minutes and they will never know.

Re: Test drove the 3.0L Diesel today!

It depends what the warranty issue is. If it is say a suspension issue thenit makes no difference if you have an aftermarket ecu or chip or whatever because that isnt related to the suspension.

There would only be a trace if there is some form of datalogging, in which case you can just claim that the car was stuffing up and the ecu was stuffing up, you didnt have a chip etc.

Re: Test drove the 3.0L Diesel today!

if it is an interceptor, then there will be no trace, as it does not write anything to the ECU.
It would only be if the ECU can detect the other ECU that it may throw a code.
