Re: UK Test of the CRD

A major point for me is deliberating between petrol v diesel on an overall ownerhip basis. I personally find the V8 much nicer to drive, I like the power delivery and rev-ability of it, the sound etc.... but the fuel saving going diesel is large.

Against the diesel is higher servicing costs, and out of warranty, much higher parts cost, with some of the injector hardware cost (that DOES fail on many new tech higher mileage diesels) is outright frightening.

What I love about the diesel is that it pampers my inert laziness. I hate going to the petrol station, so the fewer visits the better.

Plus I like going into the outback with some confidence between destinations.

My thoughts as well.
But I done it went from having V8's all my life to a diesel in 2003, now back to the V8.
I don't believe the 15c/l price gap the diesel will make it all up.
