Where is the fuel filter?

I'm stumped - looked every where under the bonnet on our CRD and can't see what I am expecting to see - a screw on canister that looks like a fuel filter.
Where should I look?

Re: Where is the fuel filter?

The fuel filter/water separator housing is located on the left side of the vehicle in front of the fuel tank.

See attached PDF file.

EDIT: PDF file has been updated to add corrected and expanded information.

Re: Where is the fuel filter?

What a marathon to change a fuel filter.

I have had blocked filters on the road from bad fuel (diesel) off mine sites.
Would not like to change one of these on the side of the road.

Thanks Milous, much appreciated......
Here in Australia when you travel "outback" a spare filter is a necessity (well in my opinion and experience anyway) due to the possibility of a tankful of contaminated fuel.
The warning regarding the fuel line quick connectors are a worry as well - likely not to be a friendly job once they are full of dust and crap.
Not something to look forward to changing on the side of the road that's for sure!!

I read that pfd as removing the filter housing( not changing the fuel filter)
I am just guessing but to change the fuel filter you just use a spanner on the lugs marked 1 in the first diagram
But does look there are 2 filters, can't wait to see what jeep wants $ for those

Re: Where is the fuel filter?

Looking at that PDF again. See the first diagram. attention to #1 are they two hex nuts that unscrew.
I wounder if they are cartridge filters.
Is that PDF for removing the assembly or to change the filters?
Does the assembly need to be removed to change the filters?

EDIT: The housing does NOT have to be removed to change the filters....

The U.S. MSRP on the filters is $41.70 each.

HMM no diesel there yet but got the filters.

They would be more like $150 by the time they get here.
