Re: WK2 Diesel Owners: Would you buy it again?

Couldn't agree with you more re comment about the Jeep dealerships here in Aus. Due to short supply I believe that the Jeep dealers here couldn't care a dam about selling the product or not.

First dealer I went to on the south side of Brisbane didn't even bother to ask me if I wanted some information on the new Jeep that I had been looking at on their showroom floor, I waited around for more than 20 mins and then walked out.
Second Dealer on Brisbane north side arranged for me a test drive in a new Limited diesel, wife and I had it for an hour on our own... loved it, but and a big but he also couldn't care a dam if I brought the vehicle or not... said " no deals, full price, take or leave it"... so I left and wont go back.

What's going on here?

Totally agree their spare parts supply is very poor parts general 4 to 5 weeks no car have been waiting up to 7 weeks new car diesel JGC Overland 7 months in dealer for 3 total so far their attitude to customers needs to be in vestigated by Govt .if you see a Jeep sign keep going .

Re: WK2 Diesel Owners: Would you buy it again?

I also had a Mercedes Bluetec (thier Urea Diesel) which is simlar to the new JGC system available in the US. After driving that and seeing the REAL world mileage you get, I will never purchase a petrol vehicle again if I can help it. It isn't just the fuel savings either it is simply better technology. So much more power and you can't just compare the numbers. If you do live in the U.S. biggest thing there is that people need to DRIVE them to know what they are all about.

BTW. Mercedes ML320 ran and smelled (less smell than a gas motor) the same for the entire 4 years, I would imagine it will go for many many more.

Re: WK2 Diesel Owners: Would you buy it again?

Its a shame that Chrysler (Australia) has a very poor attitude to its customers in the area of parts supply to these vehicles is an absolute disgrace i intend to follow this up with the consumer advocate they should not be allowed to sell cars that they cannot supply parts on short notice . We were (NOT NOW)to buy at least 6 Cherokees for our supervisors we could not afford to have them off the road waiting for parts. It seems to me that the dealers also have some thing to answer for as well .They never even communicate with the buyer on a serious problem i was told that one car had been at the dealers for 18 weeks what a disgrace i have rang customer service at least 20+ times and not one response from Chrysler this car to date has spent in the order of 12 weeks to date in 7 months since purchased .The other thing is they give no priority to WARRANTY work its paid service first that was told to me buy a past service manager .I also contacted by email to Chrysler in the USA and was told by return email they have no durastriction over other Chrysler /Fiat companies in other countries .So Mr Sergio Marchinee CEO of Chrysler your comment was the company will fail when we produce a bad car so your company needs to lift its game.So to summarise we just have to sit and wait until repaired but if the problem still exsists we will be taking stern action .

Yes, I noticed that too with the new VM Motori 3L CRD. I was working near the exhaust pipe when someone suggested I turn the engine off before I gas myself. I was totally oblivious of any fumes. The ultra low sulphur fuel keeps it smell free but if one has access to premium diesel, one of the additives in a deoderiser.

Glad someone else noticed this... When I stand behind the HEMI Durango and try and hook up a trailer I feel like I am going to pass out so if I am in a hurry I find I hold my breath. On the diesel that was never an issue (I realize neither is good to breath). Just saying we have been so concentrated on improving the air quality coming out of a diesel that it actually SMELLS BETTER than a gas vehicle even after 4 years of operation. Always ran regular run of the mill diesel too (just about all of it is ultra low sulfur now)

Nominate Re: WK2 Diesel Owners: Would you buy it again?

I would buy one again in a heart beat SO far a fantastic vehicle like all the other Aussie's on here I despair at the parts prices and spares issue but my particular Dealers Service Manager has done whatever he can to minimise my pain, I've now done 72,000+ klms in my WK2 and this engine is fantastic great power awesome fuel economy and it has not missed a beat(had a small oil leak on the sump) repaired under warranty at 60,000 klms.
NOT sure why we have the 10,000 km set service here (padding dealers) when BMW Diesels have very long service intervals in comparison to what I believe are similar engine generations.

Service intervals here are a joke, standard 10,000km no engine monitoring funny thing is the service indicator has only ever told me service due once in 70,000 kms and that was after a service where they over wrote the software to "fix" the service to 10,000 km set distances and it came on with 200kms to go to set distance.
