Re: 1-2 Shift lag/slip

Mine does it as well, and the hard downshift 6 to 5

I have taken to letting the vehicle warm up a little longer before moving off, I can only get it to do it sometimes after I let it idle for say 2 or 3 mins, no no software update yet because it doesn't seem to fix the problem.

The other thing I have noticed with this update is the downshifting for engine braking is more harsh at lower speeds, (seems better at the top end than before) making it rev to around 3000 rpm for no reason on a moderate downgrade. Also they appear to have changed the shift points so now at around 70/75 kph it hunts between 8th and 7th gear. Good on you Jeep you really know how to stuff this vehicle around with your updates!

Forgot ECO mode selection still reverts back to ON with engine re-start.

HA HAAAAAAAAAA
Yeah,....the more I read about these transmission problems/issues the less inclined I want to purchase a 2015/2016 Jeep SRT. It's a shame too because there really isn't anything out there that really interests me. "Maybe" the new Raptor when that comes out next year.
I do know it's a 50/50 chance that I get a defective Jeep, but with 70K, I don't want any major issues with the vehicle. For 70k,....there really shouldn't be any major issues like transmission troubles. Granted all vehicle brand have issues, but a transmission issue is a major issue,.....especially when Jeep has NO CURE for the fix. It's unfortunate.

Hi, tones SRT, if you are seriously looking at a GC in the future make sure the HVAC is operating correctly before you take delivery. Yet another major glitch and other problems with this vehicle that I feel Jeep is masking with the continued updates that don't work on my vehicle anyway!

Thank you for the heads up sir.
I am more than likely going to steer away from the Jeep SRT unfortunately.
I've wanted one for so long, but doesn't look like it's a viable option.
Thanks again. Good luck!

Re: 1-2 Shift lag/slip

I have a 2014 with a June '13 build date, that has had the same issue since day one. I've had one TCM update, which helped a little, but it still persists.

I find right after a TCM flash, or a dealer reset of the adaptives, the problem goes away but quickly comes back once the tranny goes through it's learning process again.

There have been numerous TCM update TSBs since, but my dealer keeps telling me there's no software update available.

SirMatt found with mine that the poor throttle response from idle has been reduced greatly after the update by turning the ECO mode OFF. I think the tranny learning solved the downshift bunt from 3rd to 2nd also. ECO being On after the update still causes hesitation with the diesel at times, don't know about the petrol. Have just got into the habit of switching ECO OFF. I know others have found switching Hill Start Assist OFF also helps.
Cheers.
