'14 SRT problems

About a month ago water pump failed and according to my local service dept. head gaskets and cylinder heads had to be replaced, everything was covered under warranty and they even paid for a rental. For a while I considered myself one if the "lucky" ones who didn't get the trans. "clunk" after picking up the beast from the dealer I think I have it x10 it is so bad that I refuse to drive it in track mode the clunk is felt thru every gear ans it is bad really bad in track mode, in sport mode it shifts perfectly fine except if I use launch control, in auto mode you can't feel thing shifts very smooth problem is who the hell drives their srt in auto mode? Overall the jeep has spent about 2 months of downtime in the last 8 months or so, radiator was replaced back in march. Do the '15s have these issues? I'm thinking about trading it in bc it just doesn't feel reliable anymore i feel as if it's a breakdown waiting to happen. Jeep has 27k miles and it's a 8/13 build.

Re: '14 SRT problems

Here's some info about my experience with the '14 Jeep SRT after exactly 2 years and 27k miles of ownership.
@ less than 500 miles on the clock the whole Uconnect system stopped responding, I bought early so there was a 6 week wait on a new uconnect system, so I had to drive with no sound for almost 2 months.
Front brake pads had to be replaced at 2k miles. Rear run flats were completely worn out at 8k miles.
I kept getting recall notices almost on a monthly basis the first year of ownership so the Jeep spent quite some time @ my local SRT svc dept.
Radiator replaced at about 15k miles.
Water pump failure at 26k miles, replaced cylinder heads + gaskets, 3 weeks down time. My latest problems with it is the trans clunk, can't drive it on track mode anymore, the shifts are extremely rough, can't use launch control either. Dealer updated trans software and just made things worse, they refuse to replace trans. And now i'm getting a lot of vibration felt thru steering wheel and cab @ cruising speeds, alignment, balance & rotation (twice) didn't fix the problem. I live my srt but I think its time to let go, it has been very fun to drive but by far the most troublesome vehicle I've ever owned. Lots of goodies will be up 4 sale soon, including Gthaus exhaust.

I don't know what a fair price would be yet, you'll be the first to know when I put it up for sale. Funny thing is I love my srt so much that I want to trade it for a '16 JGC srt night edition, lol. I've heard the 15's don't have the '14s problems, only time will tell, good luck to you bud

Re: '14 SRT problems

My 15' SRT was bought back because of the transmission clunk. My new 15' has been awesome.

Re: '14 SRT problems

Guess it's hit or miss. I have a 14 for 2 years now with 15k on the clock and not a single problem or trip back to the dealer since I got it.
