I got the word today that my dealership submitted an order to replace my zf hp870 with a new 8-70 out of the new US factory. I've had my Jeep in three times since about 250 miles for fluid leaks. At first they thought they fixed the tranny cooler line leak and thought it was also overfilled.
Now it's worse and if they attempt to repair I'll be eligible for the lemon law. I don't want that and neither do they. I love my truck and just want it back to normal. There is nothing internally defective with the transmission. There is a leak at the cooler connections, and it's non serviceable. I have no idea how long it will take to get, but at least it'll be new and installed by the only SRT tech I trust and have worked with for seven years.
Hopefully I can work a lifetime maxicare warranty out of it. Or maybe a hellcat as a loaner
. I hope by documenting this it can help diagnose other trucks that may have illusive issues.
