2014 JGC SRT - Launch Control

Hi Guys,

I recently hit 2500 KM on my 2014 JGC SRT and have started to open her up!
I tried to use the launch control a few times but was unable to figure it out.
Every time I tried the car would go into a lag and switch back to the setting it was in before. I read up online and somewhere I saw that at least 70% of the gas needs to be initiated otherwise it wont work. I tried again and had a really hard time. By the time I took my foot off the break and hit the gas (with at least 70% throttle) the car would go back into a lag and reset itself. I then tried to use both feet, one on the break and one on the gas to save time; and surprisingly in worked! It almost felt like finding the friction point on a clutch.

Could it be that I am not fast enough to switch from break to gas with the same foot? There must be something i am doing wrong...please help.

P.S. Taking Serena (my SRT) to the drag strip tonight, so I am hoping to get some feedback ASAP!

2014 JGC SRT - Launch Control

I think your doing it wrong , for me I use both feet . First come to a complete stop then select sport mode on the dial then with ya left foot hold down the brake then hit ya launch button then with ya right foot push the accelerator pedal down flat all the way to the floor hold the accelerator pedal down for no longer than 4 seconds then let go of the brake pedal and hold on and keeping ya foot on the accelerator

Just a quick note thou when you have the brake pressed hard down and the accelerator pedal pressed hard down as well don't hold the brakes on for longer than 4 seconds I think because the motor is binding up all that torque and if you keep it binding up like that longer than 4 seconds your car will go into limp mode and cause it to slow the cars operation, reason it does this to protect the cars engine and gearbox.

But it's pure fun when you get it right , it's really not hard to do and that's how I do it unless I'm doing it wrong lol anyone else chime in , like I said I use both feet when using Launch control

Thanks maxy9!

This info is helpful.

You put the car in "sport", not in "track" mode for the launch control?

Re: 2014 JGC SRT - Launch Control

Sport , track , Auto it works for all of them I haven't noticed any difference , soon as you hit launch I think it automatically does it own settings , try them all and see for yourself also you ever done a burnout in a car ? Same principle really except when your accelerator pedal is hard on the floor you must release ya brakes to launch and remember don't hold it like this for more than 4 seconds if I remember correctly
