2014 Overland 3.6L Gas Type (Octane Level)

I know the recommended fuel is 85 octane. I have been feeding my Overland 87 octane since that's the lowest my gas station offers. What does everybody else use? Do you get better performance using higher octane gas? Do you get improved miles/gallon? Thanks!

87 octane unleaded (E-10) is what I use. My understanding is that there's no advantage to using a higher grade. I believe they also state that in the owners manual.

(This thread really should be moved out of the SRT forum)

Re: 2014 Overland 3.6L Gas Type (Octane Level)

I just bought a 2013 Overland this past week with the Hemi. I have been reading through a ton of threads where most folks say there using 87/89.
My user manual recommends 91 octane for a 5.7L non SRT8. Anyone else
have this in there manual?

The latest manual I have for a '14 (version 7)recommends 87 for the 3.6 and 89 for the 5.7. I have been using 89 in my Hemi.

Do you have the latest manual for your '13. If not, download it from the Jeep website. I've never seen 85 as "recommended".

Yes, I've got the '13 manual that came out of my glovebox right here in my lap and everything I wrote above about 91 Octane recommended came out of it.
